Shakti, the external manifestation of Shiva, the consciousness, is known (vid) in biological beings through Signaling, Response to stimulus, Reproduction, Adaptation, Organization, Growth, Death, Metabolism, Mind that controls all organs and Ego. They are the dasa mahA vidyAs.

The primal response to stimulus is known to us as 'fear', that protects (Parvati) beings from danger, enable their growth physically (Lakshmi), mentally (saraswati). That fear is tripura 'bhairavi'.

As messenger of Shiva, Maha-Shakti that destroys daityas (protects us) the terrible form omkAram, I submit to bhairavi, who induces fear

As the night is fearful, yet nourishing physically, bhairavi induces fear and yet nourishes physically.

The great Vidyai who nourishes more than Lakshmi Who constantly provides nourishment The mahA vidyai, the great rAtri (night), I submit to bhairavi, who induces fear

bhairavi induces fear in our self to provide wisdom like kAli.

Who gives the boon of wisdom, kAli who bears (that wisdom), You always direct/control my self, I submit to bhairavi, who induces fear

Bhairavi is in all forms, all powerful. Inducing fear is her weapon to protect, nourish beings, grow knowledge.

So we invoke bhairavi, who uses fear (response to stimulus) as a weapon to protect, nourish and give wisdom to us, to remove our excess fear (bhIti), so that excess fear does not stop us.

Who else can remove excess fear (bhIti) than bhairavi, who induces fear (bhaya) in the first place..?
