Moha mudgaram is a set of 33 stanzas, out of which 12 are said to be from Adi Shankara, the rest by others. Mudgara means hammer. The way to ‘hammer’ mohA is to be detached, being humble, paropakAr and realizing the transient nature of life. Devotion to ‘govinda’ and philanthropic acts give us that realization. This is the crux of moha mudgaram.
What is actually available in popular song format of Moha mudgaram are few select verses from the actual available text. But they convey the crux of moha mudgara, which is devotion or bhakti is the path to jnAnA of detached attachment.
Go are all living and non-living that move. Go-vinda is the puruSa or sAksi whose effect (vinda) is the 'Go'. Though puruSa is lame (does not move), puruSa gains/gets/finds/effects all the moving in the Universe and hence is called Go-Vinda.
Bhakti or Devotion to this Go-Vinda, the puruSa who is detached, witnessing who effects all the movement helps us to detach our 'self' from our minds and move it closer to the witness/sAksi inside us. Thus bhakti leads to jnAna and hammers out the mohA.
