I am copying here a happy announcement by Prof Michel Danino and an equally happy acknowledgement by Dr S Kalyanaraman, both of whom are very well known to Medhavis:

Great work, Michel. Kudos to Prabhakar, RS Bisht and ASI Teams who have worked on the proposal with UNESCO for the last 7 years to get the site listed under UNESCO label.

Sarasvati Civilization shines forth with Dholavira's proclamation on a signboard -- the first of its kind in any civilization. The breathtaking discovery is a treat to watch on youtube.Indus Script Rosetta stone discovered at Dholavira (6:01)

Dear All, > > You may have seen the happy news of Dholavira's recognition by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Credit goes to Archaeological Survey of India for working through the long process of inscription, and to Prabhakar in particular for preparing the massive report that ASI submitted to UNESCO. > > Our Archaeological Sciences Centre has conducted several projects at Dholavira, including an aerial multi-sensor drone survey of the site (for ASI, which used some of the imagery in its report), a study of the stone bead-drilling techniques, of ceramics and microlithic tools excavated from Dholavira, of the metrology behind its town-planning, and a Ground Penetrating Radar study at a few locations. Currently, two projects are running: a study of Dholavira's faunal remains and a DST-funded project (with our colleagues in Earth Sciences and Civil Engineering, besides in PRL) studying the impact of sea level fluctuations, climate change or tectonic activity on Dholavira's decline. A couple more projects are being formulated and will be submitted soon. > > Best regards, > > Michel > >
