This is a report on the ongoing attempts by a few individuals to break the HDAS (Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha) the way INC (Indian National Cngress) was broken by Indira Gandhi, and to create a new forum called by these individuals as “Hindu Dharma Protection Movement”.
This is a report to expose the nature and activities of these individuals who are repeatedly spreading accusations against HDAS and others including Swami Dayananda Saraswati.
The banner shown here occurs on each page of vigilonline.com from where the articles slandering, libeling, defaming Acharya Sabha and others are excerpted below. The webmaster Radha Rajan is misleading the visiter to that site that the website is somehow linked to Vigil Public Opinion Forum. But since she is no longer associated with Vigil, her use of this banner and the site name as vigilonline are illegal. She often misrepresents herself, without any authority, as representing the Sangha on Sun TV and other TV channel shows. There is another website called

The stakes are not only so much higher, but the war is that much nastier, as there is no kinship or dharmic commonality that can impose restraint. There is no Sri Krishna, and Hindus are clueless how to face the enemy. Sadly, learned Swamis who should be in the forefront of galvanizing the public to recognise the enemy and gather on the battlefield, are reluctant to do their dharmic duty. They seem to have accepted a Faustian deal to allow the enemy a free run of the land in return for the safety of their rich ashramas, though how long such a promise would be respected is anyone’s guess. I say this with sadness because you have stepped forward on the Swami Nityananda scandal in an unsatisfactory manner, without even declaring your side. The PIOs were also secular, but they were asked to pretend to be concerned about Hindu dharma and to invent a category called Global Hindu – an oxymoron if ever there was one. - To establish their credentials and also acquire some self-esteem, they took up the task of seeking to correct the anti-Hindu venom in academia in the West, especially America, but proved ill-equipped for the task. Those among them with real scholarship did not want to get their hands dirty. - This group penetrated the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha along with foreigner bhaktas and tried to establish the credentials of certain swamis, to direct Hindu concerns on this bhumi in ways that could only suit the West – this alienated genuine Hindus of India. - Now these self-styled American Hindu academics are running scared on the issue of the California textbook battle, and are irate that we know this. - They are irate that we are not impressed with globe-trotting Swamis with whom they have a back-scratching club – and neither side can deliver anything to the West because they do not possess the bhumi. - They are now working overtime to take over traditional Hindu bodies any which way. There are many useful idiots available. - But the high noon of their brief eminence is already over and I think they realise that they have no status in America or India. To return to the current issue of Swami Nityananda, whatever the circumstances in which Sun TV did the expose on him, the channel is too distinguished to not do a thorough check before airing the video clip. It is foolish for American Hindus unknown in India and running away from the California textbook issue to argue that Nityananda is a victim because he was opposing Christian conversions – no globe-trotting swami has seriously opposed conversions. The crux of our critique of HDAS and Swami Dayananda is that he has opened the door for conversions in the name of inter-faith dialogue! He has consistently refused to answer questions about the representatives who went to the Vatican in 2006, and other issues, which do not need repetition here. It is pertinent that Swami Nityananda was considered dubious in many quarters, with reports of incidents of having being roughed up by the public for misbehaviour. Swami Dayananda ji has promoted such ‘spiritual novices’ in august bodies like the HDAS and GFCH, and is thus responsible for this sordid chapter in our lives. I conclude with the gentle reminder, which I hope you will not resent too much, that the issues raised have been consistently evaded by those duty bound to give an explanation to Hindu society. This columnist Sandhya Jain thinks she is the knower and protector of civilisational patents of the Sanatana Dharma. Vow! She know Sanatana dharma in and out, better than Swamiji Nithyananda (the whipping boy), and she can dictate and send orders to Pujya Sri Dayananda Saraswathi of Hindu Dharma Acharya sabha (HDAS). She may be having lot of valid information which I don't have. But I got a BIG headache on her intellectual-style lecturing. Humbleness alone gives credibility to one's thoughts. I am a follower of Swamy Paramardhananda Saraswathi ji who is the most brilliant among all the sishyas of Pujya Swamy Dayananda Saraswathi ji. Nor did I hear Pujya Swami Dayananda ji or any one of his 86 active disciples endorsing any such swami's name. So why this shrill campaign against someone so insignificant and totally immoral?
So extreme is the trivialization of the issues involved in the scandal, so insistent the clamour by those without adhikāra to declaim upon Dharma on this bhumi, that we need first and foremost to assert unequivocally the inalienable relationship between Dharma, Bharat Bhumi and Bharat Jana (people). Who, according to Hindu tradition, has the right to speak for Hindu dharma on Hindu bhumi is the crux of our concern. It is high time somebody of your caliber and commitment start a rating agency for all official and non-official Hindu sadhus, swamis, godmen, ashrams so that lesser wise among us can easily pick our leader. Kindly take heart on us idiots.
Dharma vests in the Jambudvipa of Bharat
In Hindu tradition, a human being’s true identity is spiritual and transcendental, and can be realised only inwardly in terms of his relationship to the Absolute (parabrahman). But in the material world, man’s identity is psycho-physical and social; this bestows him with the ritual eligibility (adhikāra) to act to attain the goals of human existence (purusarthas). Critical to any discussion of the identity of a people is their self-image and self-definition, in which their perception of their geography plays a crucial role.
Indians have from hoary times made a distinction between natives and foreigners, based not on racial awareness but upon the unique character of the Indian ethos. Modern race consciousness of skin and colour was never part of Hindu tradition (hence the resistance to the colonial imposition of the Aryan race theory). The Rgveda Samhita uses the word ‘Arya’ to denote pious householder; the term evolved to mean noble, cultured, a contrast to the mleccha or barbarian/outsider.
Hindu tradition subsumes all primal identities of jana (clan, tribe, later people or viśah) and gotra(also clan, tribe) in the pan-India Varna system – a hierarchy that is socio-ethical and ritual, but not ethnic. Being embedded or estranged from the Varna system marks the Indian from the foreigner; the system of Monarchy also welded smaller clan identities into a larger socio-political and cultural whole. Traditional social identity was thus associated with Varnasrama dharma, gotra, janapada; this underlay social and ritual rights and obligations, adhikāra…
All Hindu ritual begins with a resolve (sankalpa) in which one recalls one’s place in space and time. The traditional formula recalls one’s belonging to Jambudvipa or Bharatvarsa. Jambudvipa is the primordial unity of the Hindu, Buddhist and Jaina streams. In Buddhist tradition, the Buddhas and Cakkavattis (chakravartins) can be born ONLY in Jambudvipa. The Jain concept of Jambudvipa is larger and includes Bharata as one of its seven regions. Bharata is divided into six regions; the Tirthankaras and Cakravartins are born in the Arya janapadas alone.
Puranas divide the earth into seven dvipas(regions, not islands); Jambudvipa is the centre and is divided into nine Varsas; Bharata is one of them. Bharatavarsa is named after the legendary Bharata and is defined as the land north of the ocean and south of Himalayas (Vishnupurana 2.3.1). Here the system of four Varnas, Caturvarnya, operates; hence it is the only place where proper practice of religion is possible as Varnasrmadharma makes the performance of svadharma possible. Hence Bharata alone is karmabhumi.
In other countries, bhoga is possible, but not karma, as without adhikāra, karma is not possible. One cannot tread the path of emancipation without treading the path of karma. The samkalpa-mantra recalls the obligations to which one is heir by virtue of being born in Bharatavarsa, and of the eligibility won by that place in moral and religious life.
Bharat is thus a geo-cultural region where natural and cultural frontiers correspond in terms of the Himalayas and the sea; but in the north-west and north-east, the natural frontiers are not so clear and even today merge into the lands of the barbarians who do not use Sanskrit or follow the four-fold order… Your knowledge of our Dharma is truly very deep and my appreciation and hearty congratulations for the same.
Trans-national Hindus and trans-national loyalties of Globetrotting Gurus
This civilisational patent – that Bharat alone is the punyabhumi where dharma can be practiced properly, because here alone karma can be expiated by Hindus living on this bhumi – is being grossly violated by sanctimonious globetrotting swamis and rich officious Hindus who quit this bhumi for foreign soil and citizenship. Guided by unseen but readily discernible forces, these ex-Indians seek to impose monotheistic ideologies, systems, values and mindsets upon Indian Hindus – to facilitate the geo-political concerns of their white masters who wish to continue to dominate the world any which way – though they have no adhikārato do so.
Today therefore, the gravest threat to Hindu dharma comes from Indian passport holding Sanyasis with trans-national and trans-religious sympathies. They profess great solicitude for their white foreign or rich PIO bhaktas and the creature comforts accruing from this allegiance (first class air fares, limousines at the other end, five star accommodation, etc). They openly engage foreign faiths and governments in dialogue, the aims, objectives and outcomes of which are hidden from Hindu Indians, and brazenly dismiss the grave threat posed to Hindu dharma on Bharat bhumi by trans-national ideologies and religions. Okay I will hereafter distance all my PIO cousins who are followers of Sanathana Dharma living in the US and Europe. I will start a campaign against Amrithanandamayi,Sathyasai Baba, Ravishankar, Swamy Dayananda Saraswathi who allow foreigners to their teachings. Kindly you lead the rest of 'truly' Bharatheeya, resident Hindus through your authentic teachings.
Once the Nityananda sex scandal broke out on March 2, 2010, the ‘swami’ disappeared and a few days later issued a puerile statement to the effect that he had done nothing ‘illegal;’ this firmly established his guilt in the public domain. It was the duty of HDAS convener Swami Dayananda Saraswati (who unlike Nityananda belongs to a proper religious lineage and has had training in Vedic religion and culture), to ask the self-proclaimed ‘self-realised’ Nityananda to remove his saffron robes and return to civil society, being unfit to uphold the parampara of a sanyasi. Hindu tradition permits certain priests and preceptors to marry. But Nityananda perpetuated a fraud by posing as a brahmachari (celibate) and jeevan-mukta(released from the bondage of life and death while still living in the world). Doubts were voiced in private about his character and spiritual attainments long before the current scandal broke (he represents no Vedic parampara or rishi-acharya tradition); but he was given a global platform in the Global Foundation for Civilisational Harmony.
The GFCH is most likely an enterprise of Swami Dayananda, as it is unlikely that either the Dalai Lama or former President APJ Abdul Kalam [or for that matter Sri Sri Ravishankar; Acharya Mahapragya; Archbishop Cardinal Oswald Gracias; Guru Baba Ramdev; Maulana Mahmood Madani; Mata Amritanandmayi Devi; Paramhamsa Nityananda; Rabbi Ezekiel Isaac Malekar or patron Zena Sorabjee] would have taken the initiative to bring this group together. Hence it is almost certain that it is he who invited Nityananda to form part of this august gathering, and he is therefore accountable for Nityananda’s conduct. And by the same token you may be held accountable for the conduct of Keshubhai Patel, L.K.Advani, Bangaru Laxman, Rahul Mahajan, Shatrugan Sinha, Ram Jethmalani having met atleast a few of them in some point of time due to your association with the Sangh Parivar. Not even missionaries and jihadis are pursuing Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswathi with your zeal and vigour. Believe me, you must be more authentic Hinduthvavadi than Hindu Munnani and Hindu Makkal Katchi who warned anyone daring to lay a finger on the accused Nityananda. I am sure you can speak to Ramagopalan ji of Hindu Munnani (an RSS organisation) and Arjun Sampath ji of Hindu Makkal Katchi. I think your campaign will immensely help the pope's minions. It is going to be a terrible embarrassment for the Hindu community when the other religious leaders and founder-members meet and remove the impugned swami, if he does not resign with grace. Already much damage has been done, and cannot be repaired, as the actress in the sex video is a married lady who has confessed voluntary and regular relations with Nityananda. That has effectively ended the feeble claims of compromised videos and explains the inaction against Sun TV and Dinakaran!
Swami Dayananda, convener, Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha (HDAS), has maintained an unacceptable silence in this sordid episode. Despite this writers demands that Swami ji speak up, accept personal responsibility for promoting a sweet talker without formal religious training as a ‘global guru,’ and resign as Convener, HDAS, he opted to hide in the shadows. Instead, some useful idiots were deployed to threaten me with a defamation case! I wonder why you didn't use your own powerful contacts in the Sangh Parivar to attain this end. I know you know Mohan ji Bhagawath. You almost sound as if to say that Swami Dayanda Saraswathi ji might have specially imparted training to Nityananda on how to carryout such despicable deeds for a self-proclaimed swami! By the way, did you make any similar 'demands' in whatever capacity of yours, say on Sonia Maino, Karunanidhi, L.K.Advani, Sudheendra Kulkarni, Bal Thackeray, Mulayam Yadav, Mayawathi etc., for a similar misdeed against Hindus on any earlier occassion and got a positive response?
Even worse, a self-educated Global Hindu (person with citizenship of a white Christian nation and no academic or religious training in Hindu traditions, but is closely associated with Swami Dayananda and promoted in HDAS for unknown reasons) was deployed to declaim, via the internet, the official excuses for Nityananda. At first this officious person asked everyone to shut up and floated a silly video interview with Nityananda, who was hiding from official enquiries but was available to the Global Hindu! This went down badly with Indian officialdom, especially as rumours flew thick and fast that Nityananda was getting refuge with a religious leader (sic) in Haridwar, where an internationally famous lawyer was invited for legal consultation! If any such thing as a safehouse is offered as implied ( I read it as by Swamy Dayanda Saraswathi ji), then it is a truly sick act and must be un-equivocally condemned. Kindly do share the information with me, I will be much obliged. Also I trashed those articles sent to me by mail supporting this Nityananda without even opening them.
Reading the mood of ashram inmates, the Global Hindu backtracked and asked Nityananda to resign all official positions in his set up. He did not know that in Hindu tradition, a fallen monk must renounce the saffron robe and return to civil society – a punishment worse than death for sensitive souls. [It is what the writer demanded of Swami Dayananda when she discovered him making a mockery of Hindu tradition in the name of an oxymoron called Inter-Faith Dialogue, which shall be the subject of a future article].
Global Hindu went further in his ignorance (avidya). Some years ago, ‘guided’ by white superiors, he had peddled a blueprint for cutting and chopping the vast Hindu spiritual universe into a corporate hierarchy with a single point of control that would be easier to ‘manage.’ By whom, he did not say, but it didn’t need Einstein to figure that out.
All this was part of a larger effort to install Swami Dayananda Saraswati as a Hindu Pope, make him the Sole Recognised Voice of Hindu India, and then impose the agenda of the so-called Global Hindu upon hapless Bharat. Persons like the writer saw through this charade from the very first; needless to say, we have not been popular with Swami Dayananda and his foreign bhaktas/friends. I don't know if you have not heard screams of distress less than a decade ago that Hindus needed a bold religious leader without political affiliations similar to the post of pope (your and my very close colleagues). Some have billed this lack of single structure as the biggest weakness and has silenced voice of Hindus! At that time there were no single platform meetings for heads of different denominations as there are today and unity was not even on paper. Anyway, does this idea distress you? So you do believe that is the single biggest threat to existence of Hindu Dharma and not christianity or islamic demographic conquest?
Global Hindu-speak: Equating Hindu Dharma with Tantric Sex!
Global Hindu took the most astonishing route to defend/explain Nityananda’s sex-with-a- married-woman act. I suspect this is part of a pre-planned agenda to sensationalise Hindu dharma by equating it with something called Tantric Sex, and thus demonise and diminish it in the eyes of Hindu bhaktas – something reminiscent of Max Mueller’s project to interpret the Vedas in a manner that would scandalize and humiliate English-educated Hindus. It seems that the White Man – burdened with the task of ruling and ruining the Creation – is unable to invent a new modus operandi despite such a long criminal innings!
Anyway, Global Hindu said ‘the relationships between siddhis (extraordinary yogic powers), morality, Tantra and sex’ is the framework in which to interpret Nityananda. Under cover of a dialogue with Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (whose spiritual lineage is also unknown), Global Hindu suggested that there is NO connection between yogic powers (siddhis) and morality, because siddhis are a scientific phenomena in the sense that these powers can be harnessed by anyone, and ‘science’ deals with truths that are morally neutral. Comparing chalk to cheese, he said Einstein’s immoral life would not invalidate his scientific theories. He ‘proved’ his argument saying great siddhas like Ravana lacked morality. I really don't know why this so called global fool bothers you so much, I am yet to come across any such trash. I think you are wasting your precious intellect and time reading such gibberish and you positively sound parnoid. Ek chappal leke mardoo global fool ko!
Sri Sri said something equally inane. Had either gentleman a modicum of Hindu learning, he would know that siddhis are acquired after great tapas, from the benevolence of the great Devas and Devis, and are not a mechanical acquisition like power on a solar energy panel. Further, since the purpose of tapas and dhyana (meditation) is to move beyond acquisition of siddhis (which only indicate the level of attainment), the misuse of siddhis by Asuras and Danavas is dealt with via the karmic process, which is why such formidable entities are invariably defeated. The karmic trajectory is not morally neutral at all.
Global Hindu then asked Sri Sri (whose religious-academic credentials are unknown), if the Shiva Sutras are valid? Now, those who think Global Hindu has the adhikāra to pontificate on Hindu Dharma in India must surely realise that the very question is un-Hindu and is consistent with the Church objective of vilifying Hindu dharma in parts to ultimately de-legitimise the whole. The Shiva Sutras are valid for Shiva bhaktas, and that is it. The 112 spiritual enlightenment techniques taught therein, with 6 delineating sexual contact between male yogi and female yogini, are for seekers on that path. They are not for everyone even within the Shaiva Sampradaya, are not imposed on everyone, and cannot be denied to those who seek.
No one, much less a non-Indian, should have the temerity to try to create Canon Law (Christian law) in Hindu dharma by asking if any part of dharma is valid (or should be banned?). The American Deepak Chopra is free to entertain his clients with sexual gymnastics; his marketing techniques do not reflect the essence or even part of Hindu dharma. I am beginning to worry about your botherations with trivialities. Okay, now can you vouch for Prasad, Badri so on and so forth and certify our character? Do you have powers to see what we do after 10? [Indeed, this is precisely the reason why some of us have been demanding that globetrotting swamis immediately cease and desist from speaking on behalf of Hindu Dharma in international fora; they diminish the grandeur and complexity of the tradition to make it conform to the desires of politically savvy white men and women pretending to be bhaktas]. I found it distasteful that Global Hindu could term our Naga Sadhus as ‘completely naked’ (his italics). A native Hindu would know that the sadhu is digambar– sky-clad. He made it worse by saying he did not regard the sadhus as ‘either vulgar or primitive’ and that Hindu orthodoxy is contradictory because it rejects Tantra in public and respects Naga sadhus and various symbols and rituals rooted in Tantra. After this buildup, Global Hindu defended the meditation techniques taught by Nityananda, adding that there is ‘nothing inherent about sex that is rejected by Hinduism across the board…’ as brahmacharya (sexual abstinence) is just one spiritual path… Amidst a mountain of obfuscation, Global Hindu slyly lets out that Nityananda confessed to him that the Shiva Sutras have two categories of techniques. While most sutras do not involve physical contact with another person, for a small number of persons the 6 sutras involving sexual Tantra need to be tested and perfected for modern times, before they can be safely taught more widely; Nityananda considered this a legitimate R&D as is done in a lab for developing a product!
I have never heard anything so obscene in my life. This R&D obviously has a white western audience in mind; Devi alone knows what all he did and with whom. It seems fair to conclude that the perversion was on a fairly large scale, as Global Hindu reveals: ‘I believe that he even entered into written legal contracts with them to make sure that both parties were clear about the arrangement. A Hindu guru actually sought and took legal advice and ordered the drafting of a legal document that would ‘empower’ him to have sex with men and/or women disciples without legal hassles! To be legally valid, such documents would have been attested by a Public Notary or Oath Commissioner, this merits an official enquiry. Doubtless what happened in these ‘classes’ was reminiscent of Caligula’s Rome! Global Hindu-speak: Outsource Hindu Dharma to White Devotees!
We now come to the real agenda of Global Hindu, and all Hindu acharyas who do not speak out firmly and unequivocally against it will be complicit in the white Christian design to decimate Hindu Dharma on this punyabhumi. To come straight to the point, this management consultant turn eminent researcher (whatever that means), now declaims in his stentorian tones that Nityananda’s problem was that he got ‘persons with Brahmin qualities performing duties that demand Kshatriya and Vaishnav [vaishya] skills…’ The ashram leaders, he said, lacked the professional competence required to manage a rapidly growing global enterprise (it’s all about money, honey). What was needed was not Brahmin (ascetic) but Kshatriya (combative, to protect the moolah) qualities.
And it is the white devotees (naturally!) who have Kshatriyata or leadership expertise, courage and commitment. [I am not going to say ‘I told you so,’ but Swami Dayananda does owe a personal apology and a personal explanation for unleashing the dogs of war on those of us who questioned the undue eminence of ex-Indians and non-Indian ‘Hindus’ in his close entourage, and his mis-use of HDAS to facilitate the ends of genocidal monotheisms in India, of which plot the promotion of PIOs was a part]. While native Hindu bhaktas, shamed by the scandal, retreated in silence, Global Hindu declaimed that Westerners at the Kumbh were very willing to stand up for their guru, but nobody had bothered to organize them and take advantage of Nityananda’s global following! His primary concern seemed to be to salvage the assets for the white bhaktas; he was contemptuous of ashram inmates who suffered nervous breakdowns due to the scandal. Don't bother, they deserve each other!!
Global Hindu warned that many gurus fear similar attacks against other gurus (well, those who know they have compromised themselves with bhaktas in India or abroad are afraid), and urged a ‘central Hindu mechanism to deal with these episodes along the lines of various church mechanisms that intervene when Christianity faces a scandal.’ In other words, frighten Hindus into conforming to Christian Canon Law and hierarchical systems, and control the system through the central node. The Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha is being sought to be built up into precisely such an institution, with rootless agents telling us that HDAS deliberations are ‘binding on all Hindus.’ Excuse me, they are not, and never will be. All that Hindu dharma needs is a sharp end to the global career of the global sanyasis, or a complete delink between globetrotters and native bhaktas.
HDAS is currently frightened and wants to wash its hands off the Nityananda affair, but Global Hindu has already said HDAS should take over the ashram! But HDAS knows its limits in the current situation, and is now too much under the public scrutiny of some of us to dare walk that treacherous path.
Global Hindu concludes that ‘being a global guru is very demanding today, given that one has to represent a very old tradition authentically and yet in a manner that appeals to modern people. This is why Hindu leaders need a crash course on matters that are well beyond the traditional education in their own sampradayas (lineages).’
Global Hindu has damned himself with his crass ignorance – a guru is supposed to guide his flock and not repackage himself like a cinema formula for box office returns – we can see where that attitude has landed Nityananda. Gurus who are true to tradition and maintain the purity of personal conduct do not need modern marketing gimmicks to remain in ‘business’ – we can safely leave that to the economic and cultural evacuees who are successfully selling dharma abroad, and will make heaps of money, until some naked white man or woman decides to stake claim for a share in the pie!
Conclusion: Bharat in the punyabhumi
It should be obvious that the category of persons calling themselves Global Hindus pose a serious danger to Hindu dharma on Hindu bhumi; all Hindu gurus and sanyasis and lay citizens must be on guard against this group which willingly serves the political agenda of the white Christian nations.
Hindus in India need to understand that qualified Indians who over two generations, actively instigated by their parents, decided to use the professional education available in limited quantities in Nehruvian India to better their economic prospects by running away to the salubrious West, are no longer Indian in any sense of the term. Most have acquired the citizenship of western nations, and during visits to this land, boast of their relief at being free of the cultural baggage associated with Hindu samskaras!
It was the emerging geo-political needs of the Anglo-Americans that made India vital for exerting pressure on Russia, China, and Central Asia, and hence it was sought to be co-opted into the Western sphere of influence. The elite was already pro-West (decades of Ford Foundation, etc), but now the Indian Diaspora in the United States was ‘encouraged’ to be ‘Hindu nationalist’, as the UK Diaspora was too secular.
With foresight, American Jewish women were planted as bhaktas to take over the ashrams of the globetrotting sanyasis, and the PIOs started descending on the ashrams of Hindu gurus, professing to be most impressed with their social work or erudition!
An attempt was made to secure dual citizenship for this Diaspora [eg., Rahm Emanuel is an Israeli citizen; Saakashvili has an American passport, etc] but this floundered as the prime beneficiaries of such a move would be the citizens of Pakistan and Bangladesh! Now, in the wake of the Mossad assassination of a Palestinian leader in Dubai using dual citizenship passports, and the fact that Sri Lanka’s troubles flow from the fact that Gen. Sarath Fonseka was allowed to take an American Green Card while serving as Army Chief, many former colonies will be re-looking the dual citizenship issue. The issue of close kin of political leaders living abroad as foreign citizens will also come up for wider discussion some day.
Indians who abandoned their bhumi for pure economic gains, gloating about leaving the license permit raj and corrupt quota regime at home, could not have suddenly turned religious-cultural unless their host countries permitted it. They would have realised this when rabid anti-Hindu scholars conducted a vicious campaign against American Hindus associated with fund-raising for RSS social activities in India. Another wake up call would have been the shabby experience in the California textbook case. Now Hindus (including our Global Hindu) have run away from the Texas textbook controversy; those associated with RSS once have long gone underground, or reinvented themselves as ‘objective’ critics of the Sangh Parivar! We rest our case with the reiteration that Hindu dharma belongs to the Hindu bhumi and Indian Hindu people. The white Christian attempt to de-link dharma from the land is an idea whose time is gone; the full weight of globetrotting sanyasis (such as it may be) will not succeed in making foreign bhaktas or ex-Indian bhaktas the ‘authentic’ voice of native Hindu tradition. Globetrotting sanyasis would do well to read the writing on the wall and retreat to the safety of their Hindu havens, expelling possible mischief-making white bhaktas before they launch a full-scale war for ashram properties and assets. Those comfortable with white bhaktas should settle on those shores. I understand your anguish, but doubt if anyone is listening. So you want all Hindus living abroad should be declared outcast by their kith and kin in India. Okay, count me in, I will hereby give up all contact with my sisters, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles living there and stop sending Holi, Dusserah, Diwali greetings or receiving the same from them. I will not accompany them to Tirupathi hereafter.
Finally, it will surely be asked whom am I to make these startling prescriptions. I derive my courage from the Vedas which are explicit – Dharma is that which is stated by one wise man (this is gender neutral, by the way), not that which is voted by an assembly of fools.
Let the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha not be an assembly of fools; let it abandon its faux international (read anti-national) agenda.

Your exposition is not objective at all although it pretends to be so. It is a desperate and last -diotch attempt to protect the link between the GFCH and HDAS.
I will make just one observation which should nail your exposition for its motivated intellectualism. Tantric practices are a part of Hindu vedic rituals and even tradition. But this is only a part of it and for good reasons kept under wraps and not made mainstream because it is subject to abuse, and misuse leading to destruction.
Venerable acharyas with siddhis would never exhibit their metaphysical and paranormal capabilities because they knew of the inherent danger of multitudes thronging to them not out of bhakti but to experience vicariously the paranormal for self-interest.
Pujya Shri Satya Saibaba is the best example for the dangers of exhibiting it and the Kanchi paramacharya and others keeping it veiled from the bhaktas. The only thing that would be whispered was that this or that swami was trikala darshi.
Sanyasis who had masterd tantric rituals if they lived in society as acharyas and gurus would marginalise their tantric capabilites and live as benevolent acharyas for their bhaktas. Practioners of tantric hindusim however could only practise it in the depths of forests and in regions remote from human habitation. For very good reasons I may add.
Nityananda perverted a well-established practise of separating his responsibilites as guru for ordinary hindu bhaktas and his tantric practises when he used his ashrams for both. And Shri Malhotra the argument that Einstein's scientific arguments would be just as true even if he were immoral is in itself an immoral argument. A Guru or an acharya cannot be fragmented. he is whole. His practises cannot be de-linked from dharma which is also morality. Even Tantric practices have a moral quotient and it is understood that these rituals will be used by those undertaking them, only for the larger good and for beneficial purposes.
Notyananda perverted guru and acharya dharma and its principles only because he did not come from any reputed lineage and claims swayambhu status. he lacked the rigorous discipline of the mind and body to be an acharya or guru for ordinary hindus.
His wilful failure to separate his acharya status from that of practioner of tantric hindusim was aggravated by his penchant for globe trotting and for foreign bhaktas esp white bhaktas who always seek the sensational in non-christian religions. first they ran after the shamans of native americans, then it was those like osho and now they are running ebhind these new-age gurus with a taste for foreign money and white bhaktas. the next best thing to white bhaktas is overseas hindu bhaktas with a foreign accent and foreign money.
Your intellectual defence of Nitayananda is flawed on this ground alone
- a Guru who cares for his bhaktas does not mix up his responsibilites as Guru with his tantric practices. You sir have made it possible for this knave to compare himself to Adi sankara while the truth may be closer to his being half Gandhi and half Jiddu krishnamurti.
You have proved all my apprehensions about vested interests interfering in the affairs of HDAs by your own admission that you spoke to HDAs to take over the asshram and the assets of Nityananda's ashram. Respected all, I am sounding a warning to everyone on this list. Two days ago a video purportedly shot by an American of Indian origin in an interview with Nityananda was sent across to several email groups that this was an interview by an 'eminent researcher' with the gratuitous and completely unwarranted iinterpretation that this interview someohow proved Nityananda's innocence.
What was sought to be achieved was that if this 'eminent researcher' could hotfoot it to Delhi and interview Nityananda, it must set to rest all troubling questions.
What to me is completely unacceptable is that people who are themselves wearing the saffron robes and at least one eminent scholar with no political or common sense are actually participating in an unsavory episode.
The Chennai police Commissioner and the Karnataka government have taken the entire unfortunate set of videos very seriously and have signalled publicly that they would like to interrogate Nityananda.
Nityananda today is not running away from the law, but he has certainly disappeared and has put himself away from the clutches of the law. He has left his disciples high and dry, in mourning and in total bewilderment. He has also left it to some of his Bangalore disciples to face the law and the media. This is NOT the behavior of a leader, certainly not a religious leader who flaunts his foreign bhaktas across several countries as his usp.
Before raising other questions, I would like to know how an American of Indian origin could access a man whom the police want to interrogate? This is alarmingly like Veerappan giving interviews to Nakkeeran while evading the law. This too is no less.
Fir such a video, shot at a time when the police is looking for him is in completely bad taste and for people to send it across to email groups to mobilise public opinion for Nityananda smacks of some kind of base intent. This is beginning to look increasingly not about Nityananda but about GFCH.
Nityananda is NOT the victim of state power. He has been targetted by a serious TV news channel which while it may be anti-Hindu, is NOT given to tabloid reportage.
Sun TV like the Tamil daily Dinakaran is owned by the Maran brothers. The Maran brothers are certainly not sleazy whatver else they may be and TN Chief Minister is certainly not after Nityananda's scalp.
Under these circumstances the first thing that any of Nityananda's bhaktas ought to ahve done is to file a case in the Madras High Court against Sun TV and Dinakaran, for defamation of character. BUT THIS HAS NOT BeEN DONE SO FAR, EVEN TEN DAYS AFTER THE SCANDAL HIT THE STREETS.
This means something to me.
All that was done was to approach the courts with the plea that the explicit sex videos must be withdrawn from the internet and these photographs must not be printed in newspapers.
If Nityananda's disciples could go to the court prompt;y to get this done, surely they could have slapped a defamation case against Sun TV too which would have compelled the copurts to issue notice to Sun TV to produce the videos which would then have been subjected to Forensics to establish their genuineness or otherwise.
To not even ask the most fundamental questions but instead to ask small people to defend Nityananda until the big man steps in to shoot his video is not funny.
And that is why I think there is more to this frenzied attempts to get small people to defend Nityananda instead of any of the big names speaking even a word on this issue.
This eminent researcher video demonstrates that vested interests are oerpating here and some of us have to resist this tooth and nail.
It was not for nothing that I exposed the GFCH to be the trojan horse which is controlling the HDAS. That the HDAS actually discussed the book by this emeinet reseracher, that the HDAs actually annoucned inits resolutions that it will use its soon-to-set-up legal cells to fight the wendy doniger book, that the HDAs was used to thank some overseas Hindu body, that the ConvenerHDAS was participating in inter-faith and multi-faith dialogues which is a stated GFCH agenda and not an agenda of the HDAs at all, demonstrates that this group was using Pujya Swamiji for this international Track II religious diplomacy.
The conclusion is that either Pujya Swamiji was being used or that he went along with it knowingly. A group of people at home and another group overseas, all of them Hindus with no close links to any traditional matham, created this multi-religious GFCH for some reason.
the only thing to have emerged so far is that this multi-religious high international dialogues, which is an agenda for this group, has been realized through Pujya Swamiji who is close to all of them and who is also Convener HDAS.
Very serious questions had been raised by me on these issues. This frenzied attempt to drum up support for Nityananda has therefore little to do with him but more to do with protecting Pujya Swamiji. Pujya Swamiji is linked to this person only through GFCH. My guess is the entire edifice of GFCH which had been set up for some very deep reason is shaking now.
This disrepute associated with Nityananda is bound to discredit GFCH and its string-pullers.
The two persons on this list who are making frantic attempts to drum up this support are warned not to do this. Nityananda must offer himself for interrogation, his disciples must file a case against Sun TV for defamation. This case alone will give his disciples a fool-proof opportunity to prove the videos to have been morphed. Until his own disciples, domestic and foreign fail to do so, these two persons on this list must stop taking Hindus on Hindu bhumi to be brain-dead and incapab le of thinking.

Sanyasis exemplify the purpose of human birth as Hindus
- to understand the nature of the self. This knowledge or this understanding reveals to the individual the boundaries and the boundlessness of the self. Sanyasis know the limits of not only the body but also the mind. Paradoxically, it is the limited mind which gives us the sense of limitlessness too, and the sanyasi in saffron robes best represents this stunning paradox.
Knowledge of the self comes with the attendant knowledge of the nature and source of Creation. With this knowledge, which Hindus call para vidya, the individual may choose to live the life of an enlightened householder or grihasta, or may choose to become a sanyasi.
The sanyasi, for his part, may choose to live in society as a guru or acharya or simply as a sanyasi; or he may choose to leave society behind to live the life of a recluse. What distinguishes the enlightened householder from an enlightened sanyasi is the colour of his clothes. The sanyasi dons the saffron robes not for him, but for the rest of us in society. An enlightened man in saffron robes is like a vehicle with a beacon light on top – it is meant to convey something to those who see it.
The sanyasi embodies the quintessential Hindu worldview which demands that a Hindu does not disturb the innate harmony and order in Creation. In short, a sanyasi embodies every Hindu’s journey to fulfill the purpose of human life as understood and articulated by our rishis because, as the opening line of Vivekachudamini puts it pithily, of all births or all existence in Creation, it is rarest of rare to be born a (Hindu) human. A sanyasi is therefore the embodiment of rigorous discipline of mind and body, or perfect order.
A sanyasi is expected, by definition, to live a life that does not pamper the body; and the body by definition is an aggregate of five senses. A sanyasi, the enlightened man in saffron robes, is the exemplar in society who is expected minimally to keep his body under the full control of his mind by tapasya; maximally, he should be seen to have attained the perfect unity and harmony of existence with para vidya.
The sanyasi as the embodiment of the Hindu worldview and as the immediate instrument of the knowledge that is transmitted through the guru-sishya parampara is therefore the highest and most important entity of Hindu dharma.
The videos of Nityananda broadcast by a leading Tamil news channel, at the very least, rendered the sanyasi’s saffron robes meaningless and without purpose. Consensual sex or physical intimacy between two adults behind closed doors is a private affair and violation of that privacy can and must be made punishable under law; but a sanyasi whose saffron robes have a definite meaning in Hindu dharma, and who has chosen to play a role in public life as a sanyasi, cannot claim right of privacy for what is essentially an act that violates sanyasa dharma.
For all those who reposed faith in Nitaynanda’s integrity to sanyasa dharma, these are agonizing days. As bhaktas of Nityananda, there are only two options open to them. If the videos are genuine, then the bhaktas must realize that they are born in a tradition where every institution is subject to inquiry and if called for, repudiation. If the bhaktas are forced to reject Nityananda as Guru, they must return to the traditional mathams and acharyas of their ancestors.
It is just as possible that the videos are compromised and if that is so, it is hoped that these bhaktas will challenge the authenticity of the videos in court and if the videos are proved to have been manipulated or morphed, they should ask for maximum punishment under the law against the news channel which broadcast the videos. This alone will deter future misadventures to malign Hindu dharma. The bhaktas then would not only have won the war to restore the honour of their guru, they would have won a battle for Hindu dharma as a whole.
However, the issue of Nityananda’s videos is only peripheral to the purpose of this column. This column is concerned about the impact of these terrible videos on the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha. Nityananada is one of the Hindu Founders-Patron of the Global Foundation for Civilizational Harmony or GFCH, a body that merits the severest criticism for its stated objectives.
Hindus on Hindu bhumi have to take a collective stand on three issues – demand complete ban on religious conversion to Abrahamic faiths, stop all foreign funds to NGOs and religious institutions, including Hindu institutions, and an autonomous board for administering and overseeing all Hindu temples and Hindu religious institutions.
Hindus on Hindu bhumi are confronting the most menacing threat ever to their survival on this bhumi from the Abrahamic faiths and their respective state power – Islamic and White Christian nations and their governments. The three core concepts of pluralism, freedom of religion and self-determination, imported from Christianity’s contemporary liberal democracy incarnation, define the character of contemporary understanding of nation and good governance.
Hindus have failed to challenge these concepts in any meaningful way in any domestic or international forum and this failure signifies that Hindus in government and Hindu thinkers and leaders either do not realize the end-objective of these concepts or are so compromised that they dare not challenge them.
GFCH exemplifies this Hindu failure to perceive the threats posed by the Abrahamic faiths; if the Hindu Founders-Patron of GFCH understood the nature of the threat they would not have created the forum in the first place with the self-destructive objectives that they flaunt with such élan.
The defining characteristic of all Hindu Founders-Patron of the GFCH, including Nityananda, is that they all have ashrams in several White Christian countries in America and Europe and have overseas NRIs, PIOs, and non-Indians as bhaktas. These sanyasis have accumulated huge assets as immovable property in these countries and their ashrams depend heavily on foreign funds.
If Hindus in India, as a part of their war to protect the Hindu bhumi have to take on the US, the EU and the UN on the issue of religious conversion, foreign funds, the character of this nation and the basis of nationhood, it is legitimate to question whether these sanyasis with foreign bhaktas, foreign funds and assets abroad are in a position to fight this war.
Just as important is the question, what will overseas Hindus do when Hindus at home are fighting the American government on the question of religious conversion and the role of foreign funds in subverting the nation and the role of the UN in facilitating the subversion. And this confrontation is certain to happen. The answer is ‘nothing’. They have done nothing, they can do nothing, and they dare not do anything. More importantly, they will not be allowed to do anything that can shake even a stone in the political and strategic interest edifice that has been put in place by these governments.
The American government has shown repeatedly how it deals with its adversaries – individuals, communities and nations.
And that is why this writer has taken strong exception to the following –
- Swami Dayananda Saraswati as Founder-Patron of GFCH and Convener HDAS forging an undesirable and even potentially dangerous link between the two organizations whose objectives are mutually contradictory
- The growing influence of overseas Hindus – NRIs and PIOs influencing the functioning and purpose of HDAS
- Swami Dayananda Saraswati and unnamed others on his behalf participating in and signing resolutions and agreements at multi-religious meetings which conform to and do not challenge the 3 cardinal liberal Christian political concepts – pluralism, freedom of religion and self-determination
- Swami Dayananda Saraswati while holding the position of Convener HDAS, actively promoting inter-faith dialogue without getting the Abrahamic religions to concede anything in our favour
The HDAS is the highest body of Hindu religious leaders representing ancient sampradayas and lineages. Their constituency is here, on Hindu bhumi. They have to be on the side of their bhaktas when they fight to protect dharma on this bhumi. They cannot be weakened by considerations of foreign bhaktas, foreign funds or assets in foreign lands. Protecting Hindu dharma on this bhumi and protecting assets abroad are two mutually exclusive objectives.
Hindu Dharma Acharyas on this bhumi will have to demand total ban on religious conversion and end the flow of all foreign funds into this country. GFCH, by the very character of its Hindu Founders-Patron, cannot do this; by being linked to the HDAS through Swami Dayananda Saraswati and his bhaktas, the HDAS is similarly disabled.
Nityananda with his foreign funds, foreign bhaktas and foreign ashrams has exposed how this foreign connection can render our religious leaders, in their efforts to attract the young in our societies and foreigners raised on a ‘liberal’ diet, compromise their anushthana or rigorous adherence to rituals which discipline the body and mind. This slackening of discipline renders them vulnerable to penetration and infiltration.
Swami Dayananda Saraswati must therefore either disassociate himself from the GFCH or step down as Convener of the HDAS. This is not a disrespectful proposition as it is being made out to be by thoughtless and/or manipulative Hindus. This demand springs from an unflinching commitment to protect our sanyasis and high religious institutions from infamy and manipulation by our adversaries through the agency of useful idiots.
Hindus who bounce around on email groups working themselves up into phony hysterics because some of us dare place counter-arguments and courageous Hindu nationalist ideas in the public domain, run the risk of diminishing themselves from the high status of useful idiots serving overseas interests to useless idiots at home.

Respected Swami ji’s and dear Sirs
Pranam to you all
I understand that the Swami Nityananda who is the subject of a sex scandal exposed by Sun TV today is a founder member of the Global Foundation for Civilisational Harmony, a body closely intertwined with the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha. Can you kindly confirm?
Please also tell me the course of action Global Foundation and HDAS intend to take in the light of his entertaining extra curricular activities?
You may all recall that the most officious Gurumurthy ji had, in the wake of the patently false charges against the Kanchi Acharyas, arrogated all kinds of powers and authorities to himself in the name of deceased Shankaracharya Swami Paramacharya ji, and declared publicly that Perivaar and Bal Perivaar must abdicate their posts. He even had the temerity to say this publicly. It was the tenacious bhakti of few desolate bhaktas who somehow stalled this menacing of the Acharyas and the Matham, and now the case is coming to its rightful conclusion.
Shri Gurumurthy was facilitated by BJP Think Tank to come to Delhi and make innuendoes against the Acharyas at a public meeting, and telling us to wait for the evidence to be produced in court, because CM Jayalalithaa is a ‘brahmin woman’ and we ‘have to’ trust her. Well we did not trust her, but we did wait, and we can see that case dropping dead day by day, while the Acharyas who stood by are facing a karmic catharsis.
Swami Dayananda Saraswati fell far short of his dharmic duties in this matter. I had a hand in somehow stalling his joining the abdication chorus as convener of Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha
- for which I am of course grateful. But it is a sad commentary on the Swami ji that he flew from Australia to attend the wedding to Rajnikanth’s daughter and spoke ill of the Acharyas privately, and would have done damage to the Matham and the Acharyas if he had not been unnerved at the open intervention I initiated via Shri R Venkatanarayanan.
Now that Swami Nityanananda’s indiscretions are being enjoyed by voyeurs across the globe, the Global Foundation for Civilisational Harmony is liable to give an answer to Hindus about what its aims and objectives are.
You can be sure that more prurient videos of the said swami are available in America. This would be true of many other venerables also. The white man does not hand over his women to black Hindu sadhus without an ulterior motive, and this is particularly true of the Jews, who adhere to their faith and culture with utmost tenacity. Only Hindu sadhus are content to wallow in sex and money when they are corrupted – all monotheist clergy and laity are fiercely committed to the political agenda of world dominion and never let it out of their sight.
Globetrotting swamis are the bane of our country, and need to be curbed with a firm hand. Hindu hierarchy needs to allot them a secondary status, and they must no longer presume to speak for Hindu Samaj or Hindu Dharma at the global level. The question of secretly signing ‘binding’ declarations on behalf of Indian Hindus is of course ruled out.
It is my personal but firm conviction that given the unsavoury activities of Swami Nityananda, promoted for proximity to Swami Dayananda Saraswati ji, and the complete failure of Swami Dayananda as HDAS convener to defend Hindu dharma from evangelical assault in the course of his globe-trotting and to defend the Kanchi Acharyas from criminal vilification as part of a global conspiracy against Hindu Dharma, they must walk into the sunset together.
Thus, Swami Dayananda must immediately step down as convener, Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha.
No doubt Global Foundation for Civilisational Harmony will ask its patrons and members to decide the fate of Swami Nityananda, though it is likely that the patrons will scurry away in shock and awe and the enterprise simply fold up. The best laid plans of mice and men…

Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha: Piece on a Global Chess Board
The Background
The fourth conference of the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha (HDAS) concluded in Hyderabad on 11 January
- The three press-notes giving a day by day account of the conference circulated on email groups, and the resolutions passed by the HDAS on the last day, raise important questions about the motives and objectives of the group micro-managing this important Hindu body.
The writer has good cause to believe that HDAS is either being derailed or led by the nose by a Chennai-based clique and its overseas non-Hindutva Hindu partners, which see in hitching their wagon to the HDAS engine a renewed opportunity to resurrect their moribund public life.
The stigma of their role in the arrest of Pujya Kanchi Acharyas, their horrific role in silencing important Hindu organizations and throttling them from acting to put pressure on Jayalalithaa, their failed attempts to forcibly remove the revered Acharyas from the peetham and take over the matham, and the electoral defeat of the BJP in 2004 and again in 2009, perforce sent them into hibernation. But the congenital Hindu disease to forget old humiliations and old sins has enabled this clique to resurface in public life. Only now, the Chennai clique has expanded the national frontiers of its manic ambitions to control power centers and has embarked on a journey with global partners.
The HDAS is therefore being brazenly transformed by this clique into a vehicle for misadventures in international religio-diplomatic claptrap. The HDAS came into being in 2003 as a consequence of the great success of the first public meeting of the Hindu Dharma Rakshana Samiti (HDRS) in July 2000, which brought together on a common dais in Chennai around 30 important Hindu religious leaders of different sampradayas from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The writer too was instrumental in the conception and launching of HDRS, and therefore knows the goals and objectives which had been set for the HDRS.
The HDRS was launched in the immediate aftermath of Pope John Paul II declaring in November 1999, on Indian soil, his intention to plant the cross in Asia and harvest Hindu, Buddhist, Jaina and Sikh souls for Christ. The HDRS was launched as a beginning of a process to bring together Hindu religious leaders on a public platform as a visible signal of the Hindu community coming together to combat a menacing threat. The HDRS was intended as a high institution speaking in one voice in Hindu interest on Hindu bhumi. It was intended to look inwards.
The HDRS was soon taken over by the Chennai clique with the full backing of RSS Chennai; there was no follow-up to the first HDRS convention in 2000, to the bitter disappointment of some of the religious leaders who had entertained great expectations from this momentous gathering. One fine day in December 2003, the Chennai clique removed the veil off the well-hidden HDAS, and a new Hindu body came into being with Swami Dayananda Saraswati as Convener.
When the HDAS was created in December 2003, it was assumed that because it now brought into its fold Hindu religious leaders not just from the South, but also mahamandaleswars, mathathipathis and other leaders belonging to mathams and adeenams from across the country that were at least a 150 years old or older, the HDAS was an expanded version of HDRS with the same goals and objectives. The HDAS, it was believed by persons like the writer, would serve Hindu interests on Hindu bhumi and would be inward looking too.
The Grand Heist
This was 2003, a year before the arrest and incarceration of the Kanchi Acharyas. We do not know what lemon this clique, some of whose members flaunted their identity as bhaktas of the Kanchi matham as their USP, sold some of the acharyas to get Swami Dayananda Saraswati, a sanyasi from a non-traditional institution, to be appointed Convener of the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha; but the lemon was sold successfully and Swami Dayananda Saraswati was made Convener of the HDAS.
Such was the influence of one member of the Chennai clique on a section of the RSS leadership that no questions were asked and no explanations demanded about the purpose or structure of this edifice. Members of the Chennai clique were individuals in their own right and prominent personalities in diverse areas. This group, in 2003, ’04, controlled the resurrected HDRS, the HDAS, the Thinkers’ Meet (a body of persons who the Convener of the HDAS and a former spokesperson of the RSS attested to as being intellectuals worthy of their attention and patronage) and influencedbusiness houses, some mathathipathis, the RSS leadership in Nagpur and Chennai, the BJP leadership in Delhi, at least one declining English daily in the South, and a small but important section of public opinion. Their reach was formidable and their control over Hindu organizations, total.
It was but inevitable that this manic desire to influence and eventually control individuals, institutions, and important power centers would soon run amok. This clique was like an intoxicated Bakasura. Its conduct in the wake of Jayalalithaa’s asuric assault on the Kanchi matham and the arrest of the senior Acharya in November 2004 exposed this clique as nothing else could have done.
The Convener of the HDAS who enjoys a symbiotic relationship with the Chennai clique and already had his mind made up for him by the clique, brusquely refused the anguished demand to mobilize the HDAS against Jayalalithaa when the writer sought his darshan within three days of Pujya Acharya’s arrest; the RSS leadership and the Chennai RSS in particular was pressured by this clique into silence and complete inaction. Days passed and weeks and months crawled second after excruciating second, as the two Acharyas languished in jail even as all Hindu organizations went unconcerned about their routine chores and simply watched the mind-numbing tragedy that struck the hoary Kanchi matham.
The HDAS convened for the second time in Mumbai in October 2005, but without the Kanchi Acharya, one of the moving spirits behind its creation. The Convener of the HDAS, as if to make amends for not mobilizing the HDAS against the Tamil Nadu government, agreed to pass a resolution -
After a discussion of the sad episode of arrest and bad treatment of Kanchi Shankaracharya, a revered member of the Acharya Sabha, it is resolved that -
*- The arrest and the ill treatment of Kanchi Shankaracharya, the Head of the ancient and sacred Kanchi Kamakoti Matha is a matter of great pain to all the members of the Acharya Sabha present in the Conference. It has also deeply hurt millions of Hindu devotees in the country and overseas. The Acharya Sabha prays that the criminal court cases come to an early end with complete vindication of the Kanchi Acharya and his junior Acharya. The Sabha also prays for their good health and wishes them well.
A suitable law to be enacted to ensure that highly respected spiritual and religious Heads receive due respect and protection against any hurtful treatment*
The Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha through no fault of its own, but because of the decision made by the Convener and the Chennai clique, was thus coerced into reneging on its promise to protect dharma and the dharmi. Hindus must pause to think what Christians and Muslims in the country and around the world would have done to Jayalalithaa had she done the same to a Tamil Nadu Archbishop or a revered Muslim cleric in Tamil Nadu.
The Chennai clique must accept a large part of the blame for exposing us as a cowardly and self-absorbed lot, long on words and short in action. While some of the Acharyas in the HDAS, particularly Pujya Swamiji of the Pejawara Matha, insisted on raising the issue in the second conference of the HDAS in Mumbai, and even succeeded in getting a resolution passed, however vacuous and useless, the organizers of the Thinkers’ Meet which included the Convener of the HDAS, refused to allow any mention, leave alone discussion on the issue, either in 2005 or
- The Thinkers’ Meet is today a jaw-me-dead forum where a happy time is had by all.
The cataclysmic assault on the Kanchi matham halted this clique for a brief while. It could no longer strut around the country with its habitual self-satisfied smirk. But power is addictive, especially if this is power derived from controlling centers of power. The BJP’s electoral defeat in 2004 added to this clique’s woes and as more and more doors within the country began to shut, this clique, including the HDAS, had to go into forced hibernation; or so we believed.
Undaunted by the feisty resistance put up against the clique by a small group of determined Hindus, the Chennai clique, like Advani, refused to go away. The RSS leadership did not outlaw the clique but continued to back it to the hilt; the clique continued to enjoy the benevolent patronage of the Convener of the HDAS who also facilitated its efforts to stay on the right side of Advani.
As part of the pre-electoral exercise to promote Advani as Prime Minister in the 2009 general elections, the Convener of the HDAS participated as Chief Guest in a garish public meeting organized by the Chennai clique to promote the Tamil translation of Advani’s best-ignored autobiography. While one member of the clique embodying gender equality was happy to be seen beaming on the dais, the mastermind, as is his wont, stayed coyly behind the screens pulling the strings.
HDAS goes global
In retrospect, it would seem that the Chennai clique had begun intensive and prolonged interaction with Americans and overseas Hindus with diverse affiliations
- Overseas Friends of the BJP, Indian-American disciples of globe-trotting sanyasis, non-Indian Hindus living abroad, friends of non-Indian Hindus who are becoming increasingly visible and vocal in some Indian ashrams, individuals in the American establishment especially the US State Department and US Congress, and a section calling itself non-Hindutva Hindu intellectuals.
Between 2004 and 2007 when the domestic climate was hostile to the Chennai clique, it scripted its come-back plot. In January 2006, summoning all its overseas contacts and reserves, the clique organized a jamboree in Gujarat to push for the creation of a “global” organization which would be the vehicle for its global ambitions. The January 2006 Gujarat jamboree led to the creation of that wondrous creature called Global Foundation for Civilizational Harmony (GFCH); this happened exactly two years later
- on 22 January
- The forced hibernation of the Chennai clique had ended with a flourish and also ended the hibernation of the HDAS. Within ten days of launching the GFCH, the Convener of the HDAS presided over the third conference of the HDAS in Chunchungiri, Karnataka, between 9 and 11 February 2008.
The Convener of the HDAS, as pointed out earlier, shares a symbiotic relationship with the Chennai clique. The Chennai clique pulls several organizations from out of its hat to serve its different ambitions. These forums also serve as parking place and positions for the clique’s sycophants and loyalists. Besides controlling some of the RSS parivar organizations, this clique created the the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha, influenced the creation of the Thinkers’ Meet, has now created the Global Foundation for Civilizational Harmony, and continues to control the more or less moribund Hindu Dharma Rakshana Samiti.
Swami Dayananda Saraswati is a patron of the HDRS, Convener of the HDAS, financier of the Thinkers’ Meet, and the Hindu Founder of the GFCH. The problem for the traditional mathathipathis of the HDAS, for the Hindu bhaktas of these religious leaders, and for the Hindus of Hindu bhumi, lies in the Convener’s multiple roles and the global ambitions of the Chennai clique which comes with the Convener as a package deal.
The moral authority of our traditional mathathipathis, adeenams and mahamandaleswars lies in their unswerving commitment to the religious tenets and accompanying rituals of their sampradayas; they are the custodians of our religious traditions and heritage and they demand that their bhaktas live their lives as responsible inheritors of this heritage. The only dharma of Hinduism’s traditional religious leaders is to care for and protect their sampradaya and their bhaktas. They have to be and are inward looking. Our traditional leaders from various sampradayas are caste-specific, language-specific or region-specific. They are not global because they have no reason to leave the shores of Hindu bhumi. If the world has reason to seek their darshan, the world has to come to their door-step. This has been the way of our dharma traditionally and there is no reason to change this. Certainly, our traditional religious leaders will not cross the borders of Hindu bhumi to seek darshan of their bhaktas living abroad.
Perverting the very nature of the HDAS to make it global is the effort by this clique. The writer was compelled to go on the warpath against this clique to rubbish some of the resolutions that were passed at the end of the fourth conference which concluded on 11 January

- It was brought to the notice of the Acharya Sabha, based on interactions with agencies inside and outside the country, that the Sabha has come to be looked upon as a welcome apex voice on behalf of Hindus all over the world. It was therefore necessary for the Sabha to plan its policies and activities accordingly. Ageing leadership of the Heads of Mathas and Peethas should ensure continuity and smooth succession by young disciples well-rooted in our culture and heritage and also well educated and trained to face the modern world, engage in scholarly debates and to participate in international conferences.
Agencies inside and outside the country, Apex voice on behalf of Hindus all over the world, ageing leadership, well educated, trained to face the modern world, international conferences, these ideas must make every Hindu sit up and rub his ears in disbelief. In an earlier column the writer had expressed a fear that there was a move afoot to create a Hindu Papacy and this resolution has proved the fear to be well-founded.
The Chennai clique and the Convener of the HDAS not only want young disciples as peethathipathis and mathathipathis (so much easier to manipulate and bend to their will), but claim for the HDAS the status of Apex Voice recognized as such by foreign busybodies. To prove the fear of converting HDAS into a Hindu Papacy with the Chennai clique as Cardinals-in-waiting, is the press-note issued by HDAS prior to the conference. Its opening paragraph inter alia states -
The decisions arrived at by the Acharya Sabha are therefore binding on Hindu Society
If the press-note struck an unrealistic note, the resolutions left a bad taste in the mouth. The unmitigated impertinence of diminishing the extraordinary and solemn process of choosing and anointing the next peethathipathi or mathathipathi to some kind of employment advertisement should send ring alarm bells in the ears of every Hindu nationalist. Hindu dharma, its bhaktas and structures, have to be protected first on Hindu bhumi. Ignoring and refusing to deal with the threats at home, but passing resolutions about irritations abroad, is to subvert the purpose for which the HDRS and HDAS were created.
Our traditional acharyas do not need to travel abroad to participate in international conferences. Intellectually invigorating discussions and debates on aspects of our religion and dharma have been a part of Hindu religious tradition and our leaders did not have to go abroad to do this. A member of the Secretariat of the HDAS some years ago shook his head despairingly at the inability of our acharyas to hold forth in English. Jawaharlal Nehru is alleged to have shaken his head just as despairingly when Babu Rajendra Prasad was proposed as first President of independent India. “How will he receive international leaders,” Nehru was supposed to have asked.
As one indignant Hindu thinker put it, it is the prerogative of free Indians to choose a mongoose to sit in Rashtrapati Bhavan. If the world wants to engage the Indian Rashtrapati, it has to engage with the mongoose. Another friend was not quite so elegant in her anger. “Hindus who know how to protect their dharma don’t need to speak in English”, she said. They only have to know how to throw a shoe unerringly at the enemy’s head.
Our acharyas must act now to put the HDAS back on track to serve Hindu interests on Hindu bhumi.

What’s in it for Hindus on Hindu bhumi?
“It was not from the people of India that India was won by Moghul or Briton, but from a small privileged class”. (Aurobindo, Bande Mataram, April 29, 1907). Aurobindo’s perspicacious analysis of how the Hindu nation was enslaved first by Jihadis and then by the Crusaders who co-opted a section of the privileged class to enslave us may well apply to the small privileged class manipulating the HDAS, the highest body of Hinduism’s traditional religious leaders.
The HDAS is in very real danger of becoming a piece on the global chess-board not because any one or even a few of the mathathipathis have turned their inward-looking eyes to view foreign shores but because “a small privileged class” has monumental ambitions to be seen by “inside and outside agencies” as being the face and voice of Hindu dharma – “well educated and trained to face the modern world, engage in scholarly debates and to participate in international conferences”. The list of international conferences attended by the Convener of the HDAS in that capacity, and as listed at the very beginning of the resolutions passed in 2010 by the HDAS is self-explanatory -
“The members heard a report from the National Coordinator listing the conferences in the country and overseas in which the Acharya Sabha was represented either through the National Coordinator or through one of the Acharya members.”.
· Participation in a Conference in Jerusalem in February 2008 centering on scholarly exchanges with Jewish scholars for a better understanding of Hindu religious philosophy and practice. This interaction was greatly appreciated by the Jewish scholars.
· Participation in an international conference of government and religious leaders in May 2008, called by the President of Israel.
· Participation in an UN Conference in December 2008 at the Hague where the UN Declaration on Human Rights was re-visited; on behalf of the Acharya Sabha. Some important changes were made in the final document to describe “Religious Freedom”; this was to reflect the concerns of the Acharya Sabha and Hindu Society on the “right to religious conversion” by Abrahamic religions
· Participation in February 2009 in a Hindu-Buddhist dialog in Cambodia organized under the auspices of Global Peace Initiative of Women
· Attendance in a preliminary meeting in December 2009 with the Russian Orthodox religious leaders in Moscow to explore future clarificatory dialog with a view to substituting spiritual collectives for international political bodies like the UN, in matters of cultural and religious importance
This alone should make every Hindu with an iota of political sense, sit up and take note. These are not ordinary conferences, and imply the move by the Chennai clique and the Convener of HDAS to play international politics of religion at the level of foreign governments and powerful international organizations. The list above does not include an inter-faith conference in Lariano Italy in May 2006, a conference organized jointly by the Vatican Pontifical Council for Inter-faith Dialogue (PCID) and the World Council of Churches. Political-minded Hindu nationalists are troubled by a few questions –
· Was anything concrete achieved by the Convener of the HDAS for the Hindus on Hindu bhumi from these foreign inter-faith, multi-faith dialogue ventures?
· Did the President of Israel, the UN, The Vatican, the World Council of Churches, the Cambodian NGO and the Russian Orthodox Church invite Swami Dayananda Saraswati or the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha?
· If they invited the HDAS, how did they come to know of this body and why did they short-list this body to speak on behalf of Hinduism?
· When one of the press notes stated, “The Sabha also expressed its thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by the forum for Religious freedom of US for recognizing the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha and its activities to help Hindus and also promote the message of Hinduism did it mean that someone from within the HDAS or one of the members of the Chennai clique with their overseas partners had actively campaigned for US State Department recognition of the HDAS as the sole voice of Hindus in the country?
· If the invitation was addressed to the HDAS, did the traditional acharyas, mahamandaleswars and mathathipathis constituting the HDAS discuss the invitation and send its Convener to the discussion table with a set of Hindu-centric and specific assertions, demands and queries when we sat across the table with Christians, Muslims and Jews?
The writer doubts it; and doubts it for simply two reasons. The HDAS resolutions expose the fact that except for cow slaughter, the HDAS has not discussed or passed resolutions on some of the most pressing and dangerous problems confronting the Hindus on this soil. If we are not discussing these problems within the country, it follows we are not even raising these issues in international conferences and meetings.
Secondly, some of the resolutions and declarations accepted by the Convener or his representatives on behalf of the HDAS, and the aims and objectives of the HDAS are totally at variance with and even directly contradict the very purpose for which the HDRS and the HDAS were conceived of in 2000 and then in 2003; whereas the GFCH is eminently capable of accepting and even enthusiastically endorsing such inter-faith and multi-faith declarations.
We may safely presume that the HDAS website is maintained by its Secretariat which not surprisingly is manned by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s disciples. But what is surprising is that the HDAS website does not inform us about the aims and objectives of this body; information which is sine qua non.
One of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s past refrains was, “All religions do not have the same goal”. Pujya Swamiji will find it very difficult to pronounce this pregnant truth now, considering the fact that he is also one of the Founder-Patrons of GFCH. Now this website has a colourful pyrotechnic representation of rotating-around-the-globe Cross, Crescent, Star of David and our own Om among other symbols. In case any of you failed to get the message, the GFCH insists, as a running commentary to the rotating symbols, that “All religions lead to God”, and “We can learn from all civilizations”. The mischief, to minds as suspicious as that of the writer, lies in the use of ‘religions’ in one pronouncement and ‘civilizations’ in the other.
The HDAS is a body of traditional mathas, adeenams and akharas, committed to protecting and propagating Hindu sampradayas. It is but natural that they are gathering under the forum of HDAS with the specific objective of collectively combating threats to dharma and dharmi on this soil. As Convener of HDAS, Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati is mandated to facilitate the fulfillment of this objective even if it is undefined and undeclared. Obviously this objective cannot be met if as Founder-Patron of the GFCH he is forced to declare all religions lead to God and that Hindus can learn from other civilizations. This is conflict of interest at its most telling.
The GFCH website takes great pride in the fact that Hindus participated in a Muharram procession; the question is can the HDAS take pride in the same? More importantly, what will be Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s position on Hindus taking pride in participating in rituals associated with Muharram or Good Friday? Will he speak as the Convener of HDAS or as Founder-Patron of GFCH?
The May 2006 Vatican and WCC organized inter-faith conference finds mention in the HDAS website; as the writer has observed in an earlier column, unless otherwise denied or explained, we have to assume the HDAS was represented at this conference. What did these resolutions give to the Hindus of Hindu bhumi? If anything, these resolutions have done us great injustice and disservice.
The much touted freedom of religion, like secularism, is specific to countries under the rule of kings, caliphs and governments deriving from Judaism, Christianity and Islam. All three Abrahamic religions are monotheist and have a long history of intolerance – Jews controlling not only all finance and trade but bleeding other religionists dry with their money-lending, Muslims persecuting Christians and Jews, Christians persecuting Muslims and Jews and both Christianity and Islam destroying without any trace entire civilizations, religions and cultures rooted in non-Abrahamic religions.
Nazism was an eye-opener to all three Abrahamic religions; deriving from Christianity it demonstrated to the White Christian and Jewish world in a span of just two decades, what the Church and Islam had been doing across the globe spanning centuries and millennia. The concept of ‘freedom’, political freedom, freedom of religion and all other freedoms was pulled out of thin air as a post-Nazi virtue and given international and mandatory universal status and political thrust by Pope John Paul II when he addressed the UNGA in
It is not in the purview of this column to go into details of twentieth century early history of personal freedom and its progression. The point to emphasize here is that the HDAS is not obliged to accept a principle not native to the religion or culture of this bhumi, particularly when the principle works actively against Hindu interests on Hindu bhumi; even more so when this principle has been crafted by the Church to serve its political objective of bringing the world under its domain.
The HDAS is not obliged to be politically correct either, in its aims and objectives or in its articulation of Hindu concerns. The HDAS is not obliged to look outside national borders to aspire to be recognized by the US State Department as being internationally politically correct. The HDAS must therefore resist attempts to force it into some kind of contrived bonhomie with the Vatican, WCC, Deoband and the State of Israel; the bonhomie not having yielded any tangible result for Hindus, it may be added.
Every word in these declarations and resolutions has been carefully picked; every word has a reason to be there. It is obvious that the Convener of the HDAS and the Hindus who assisted the Convener or participated in these conferences have taken what was given to them and have signed on the dotted line as indicated.
Hindus signed the completely one-sided Vatican resolutions in 2006 which declared –
· Freedom of religion included the right of Christians and Muslims to propagate their religion to non-Christians and non-Muslims on Hindu bhumi
· Freedom of religion included the right of the murderous Abrahamic faiths to convert Hindus and tribals on Hindu bhumi and forget the half-clever words which do not fool Hindu nationalists
· There is something called ethical conversion and something called unethical conversion where a person converts out of “his own free choice
· Adherents of all faiths have been guilty of errors and injustice
· We also appreciated the “humanitarian work’ undertaken by “faith communities”
The Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha has flaunted this sell-out of Hindu interests on its website. The writer re-iterates the point that Hindus who participate in these inter-faith and multi-faith dialogues and discussions are invited only because those inviting them know that these Hindus will sign on the dotted line. A case in point is, “We acknowledge that errors have been perpetrated and injustice committed by the adherents of every faith. Therefore, it is incumbent on every community to conduct honest self-critical examination of its historical conduct as well as its doctrinal/theological precepts. Such self-criticism and repentance should lead to necessary reforms inter alia on the issue of conversion.
Let us take this resolution apart, word for word, phrase for phrase.
· “We acknowledge” includes the three Hindus who participated in this conference
· “Errors perpetrated and injustices committed” are euphemisms for total and near total annihilation by Islam and Christianity of entire nations, cultures and peoples across continents, which includes Native Americans, natives of Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists. The crimes against humanity which is coyly worded as “errors and injustices” include genocide, Atlantic Slave Trade, invasion and occupation of continents, burning women on the stakes as witches, the Christian Inquisitions including the Goa Inquisition, Nazism and communism. The trail of the bloody sword of Islam is just as well-known.
· “Adherents of every faith”, the cleverest and most evil phrase of all implies two things. One, Hindus have accepted to be placed in the same category as Christians and Muslims; Two, we have allowed it to be recorded that these terrible crimes were perpetrated only by the “adherents” of these faiths. This implies that the guilty were only misguided adherents while the faiths themselves are innocent for the deeds of their adherents.
The Vatican and the World Council of Churches (the apex body of Protestants) have thus succeeded in getting Hindus to sign that the Bible and the Koran are not guilty of the crimes perpetrated by the Christians and Muslims against the people of other religions in the name of the Bible and the Koran. By foolishly absolving the Bible and the Koran of all guilt, the Hindus who went to the Vatican and signed this piece of garbage have conceded, like Gandhi conceded to the Bishop of Calcutta, that religious conversion will be permitted in independent India; only they have to be “ethical conversion”.
This is only the beginning of Hindu stupidity at inter-faith and multi-faith dialogues industry. The tragedy is that this is being done in the name of the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha. (To be concluded)

Only politics of religion: Spiritualism is a papal con
Global Foundation for Civilizational Harmony is a mind-boggling and foolish beyond belief Hindu creation rooted in papal exhortations. This multi-religious Foundation would have either self-destructed, tearing itself apart by conflict of religious interests, or sooner than later outraged Hindus would have detonated a Sivakasi under its chair in vehement protest; that this has so far not happened is only because the mutually contradictory GFCH and HDAS were shrewdly hitched to the same engine; and when the engine wears the venerable saffron in the form of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati, then the bravest of Hindu hearts would quake in trepidation even if it is determined to light a Sivakasi under the GFCH chair.
The Convener of the HDAS is one of the multi-religious Founder-Patrons of the GFCH; the Convener of the HDAS is also the patron-saint of the Chennai clique and their compatriots abroad. All this is impacting upon the functioning of the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha; and just as the Chennai clique as All Advani’s Men, had earlier blurred the lines between RSS ideology and BJP real politik, they are now blurring the lines between the HDAS’ objective of protecting Hindu interests on Hindu bhumi and the GFCH objective of inter-faith dialogue and conflict resolution through bonhomie. The last battle for survival by Hindus with their backs to the wall may be closer to the truth than the cliché “conflict resolution”.
Islam and the Church are succeeding at a pace and scale even they would not have imagined to alter the religious demographic composition of the three southern states of Andhra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, and altering the character and content of public spaces with churches, Christian prayer houses, mosques, madarasas and other vast pieces of real estate being purchased and flaunted by adherents of these two Abrahamic religions. Talk about intellectual Hindus as useful idiots!
Given the astronomical amounts of money coming to these two religions from Christian and Muslim countries, it is either foolish in the extreme on the part of the Chennai clique or something more sinister that they created the GFCH.
The threat posed by such organizations to Hindu interests cannot be overstated because this clique has managed to get the resolutions passed by HDAS 2010 in Hyderabad to make oblique but laudatory references to the GFCH. The Chennai clique and the Convener of the HDAS are actually fudging the lines between overwhelming, internal threats to Hindu survival and vicarious overseas (primarily American) Hindu NRI (green card or permanent citizen) and PIO (American or European citizen) interests.
Hindu nationalists must read the trend-setting address by Pope John Paul II in 1995 to the United Nations General Assembly for two reasons.
First, secularism and all that drivel notwithstanding, it is the Church, whether the Catholic Vatican or the Protestant World Council of Churches which decides the domestic and foreign agenda of White Christian countries. Secularism means the Church and the State (Christian monarchy or a ruling oligarchy of Christian commoners) share the same goal of hogtieing the whole world as different nations under the Christian God; the armies of Christian states and churches of all denominations may be different with different weapons and different battles in the same war but they all go to the battlefield for Christwith the unstated agreement to share the plunder between them.
Second, in pathetic contrast to Jews, Muslims and Christians who sit across each other in multi-religious or inter-religious dialogues, Hindus who participate in these discussions have very poor knowledge
Of the political objectives of the Abrahamic religions,
The determination and the total commitment of their adherents to fulfill those objectives and
The power of these religions and their state partners to enforce their agenda towards fulfilling this objective.
The 1995 UNGA address by Pope John Paul II is remarkable for two things: the Pope had the unchallenged audacity to speak of a universal longing for freedom, universal moral law flowing from this universal longing, modern totalitarianisms, and a century of violent coercion giving way to a century of persuasion; but the Pope raised all these noble-sounding virtues only in the context of intra-Christian Second World War, the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the rise and fall of communism. While the Jewish community and the Romany gypsies were the intended and mercilessly targeted victims of Nazism, the Second World War alone, is the beginning of the context of the Pope’s self-righteous anger because White Christians were victims of the war they unleashed against the world.
“The quest for freedom in the second half of the 20th century has engaged not only individuals but nations as well. Fifty years after the end of the Second World War, it is important to remember that that war was fought because of violations of the rights of nations”.
We have to read the papal address to the UNGA with a willing suspension of disbelief. The Pope’s address makes no reference to the history of the world prior to the Second World War, shaped by the violent expansion of Christianity across continents; no reference to old totalitarianisms, to the most brutal and merciless violation of nations and abuse of what the Pope now labels as universal human rights of peoples persecuted and destroyed by the Church; the longing for freedom of those peoples and nations made extinct or nearly extinct by the wife&body of Jesus Christ; or the innumerable movements for freedom and courageous wars of independence fought by peoples and nations to end their physical, political and economic slavery, all perpetrated in the name of the Pope’s religion. The colonial-White Christian Second World War and anti-capital and anti-Church communism were the only points of reference for the Pope when he audaciously inaugurated, at the UNGA, the new and universal idiom of political discourse with religion, his religion at the core of world affairs.

- A year later, in 1996, Samuel Huntington expanded upon his 1993 political monograph on the clash of civilizations into a path-breaking book with the same name; only he placed a conjunction after the original title and added for good measure, “And the remaking of World Order”. Pope John Paul II in 1995 at the UNGA, readily picked his cue from Huntington’s 1993 thesis and proclaimed with all the papal arrogance at his disposal that it would be the Church and its ‘secular’ state partners, the White Christian western countries, who would craft this World Pecking-Order. The Pope also stated matter-of-factly that he intended to create new nations from old for Christ in the name of rights of nations, universal longing for freedom, universal human rights which included the inviolable right to change religions and nationality, and of course self-determination!!
“There can be historical circumstances in which aggregations different from single state sovereignty can even prove advisable, but only on condition that this takes place in a climate of true freedom, guaranteed by the exercise of the self- determination of the peoples concerned”.
Papal Address as statement of intent
The US and the United Nations which provided the Pope with the forum to deliver this political speech masquerading as virtuous indignation, could not have made a more blunt and deliberate collective statement of intent. Let us recollect that the US and the Pope, in 1995, flush with the success of breaking up the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia, were in the thick of creating the Christian State of East Timor and actively implementing on the ground “aggregations different from single state sovereignty” (euphemism for threatening the territorial integrity of countries) using the twentieth century Christian political doctrine of self-determination. The new world order would be made with the Church and Christian countries playing Creator and the United Nations playing referee.
Hindus creating more and more forums and institutions for inter-faith dialogue must read the Pope’s UNGA address again and again and yet again to internalize the barely concealed ultimate objective of all Christian totalitarianisms – Church or State. The Pope, not once in the course of this detailed exposition on papal intent, makes any reference to other religions as being essential to the diversity to which he is singing odes. Read the address again, the Pope talks of other nations, other cultures and other languages as being important to nurture diversity of existence; but does not once mention that other religions too must exist for true diversity.
Diversity, as is implied in the papal address, will be permitted in the New World Order, only as diversity of cultures and languages within the Christian Kingdom of God. When India becomes a Christian nation, the Pope will have diversity within diversity – American Christianity, French Christianity, Norwegian Christianity, African Christianity, South-Korean Christianity, and within Indian Christianity he will permit Mundu-wearing Christianity, Kannada-speaking Christianity, Tamil puttu-eating Christianity, Goa pork-eating Christianity, Bindi-wearing Christianity and jeans-attired Christianity. We Christians, says the Pope unctuously, are a diverse world of cultures and languages; patriotic as Indian Christians, Japanese Christians, Chinese Christians and Brazilian Christians; and our multi-national Church celebrates Christian diversity in the ultimate totalitarianism – the Kingdom of God.
In this Kingdom of God of free nations, free by self-determination, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Nagaland, along with East Timor, Poland, Czech, Slovakia and Croatia, will be free nations – free to eat pork or puttu, sport a bindi, lungi, mundu or jeans, free nations which will be permitted to speak Croatian, Danish, English, Spanish or Telugu. But they will all worship only Jesus Christ, his mother on earth, and his Father Who-Art-In-Heaven. This is papal, American and UN diversity. If, as is explicitly but cleverly stated, there is no religion but Christianity, and only a diversity of cultures and languages, then freedom of religion can only mean the freedom to convert non-Christian cultures to Christian religion.
Readers must not lose sight of this point to better understand why the writer was compelled to condemn all inter-faith and multi-faith meetings and declarations undertaken by the Chennai clique and Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati on behalf of the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha. By declaring through one of its press-notes that the resolutions passed at the Acharya Sabha are binding upon all Hindus, and when the HDAS resolutions harp on international this and United Nations that, it is clear that Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati and the non-Sanyasi coterie using him as front for their own towering ambitions to be key Track II international players, are making the HDAS wily nily, a piece on the global chess-board.
Arraigned on the chess board are the Kings and armies of Two kinds of Gods – the monotheist God of the Abrahamic religions on one side, and on the other side, the ancient and non-monotheist worldviews where people can worship any number of gods, stones, trees, rivers, books, animals and even space, as they understand ‘God’.
“And yet if we make the effort to look at matters objectively, we can see that, transcending all the differences which distinguish individuals and peoples, there is a fundamental commonality. For different cultures are but different ways of facing the question of the meaning of personal existence. And it is precisely here that we find one source of the respect which is due to every culture and every nation: Every cultureis an effort to ponder the mystery of the world and in particular of the human person. It is a way of giving expression to the transcendent dimension of human life. The heart of every culture is its approach to the greatest of all mysteries: the mystery of God. Our respect for the culture of others is therefore rooted in our respect for each community's attempt to answer the question of human life. And here we can see how important it is to safeguard the fundamental right to freedom of religion and freedom of conscience, as the cornerstones of the structure of human rights and the foundation of every truly free society. No one is permitted to suppress those rights by using coercive power to impose an answer to the mystery of man”.
Culture, not religion, said the Pope! When important leaders in the RSS who are expected to have a sound understanding of politics, especially politics of religion, parrot “Hinduism is not a religion, it is a way of life rooted in our culture”, when Advani and All Advani’s Men declare the BJP stands for “cultural nationalism”, they have already given Christianity its intellectual victory in India – removing Hindu religion from the battle field. A way of life, as the Pope has promised us all, can and will be encouraged; only this way of life will be hitched to only one religion – his religion. Cultural nationalism, which the BJP is at pains to emphasise is not religious or territorial nationalism, can thus mesh painlessly with the territory-grabbing political objective of the Church. When Hindus discard specifics in favour of the general, they have always strengthened only the Abrahamic monotheisms.
Close on the heels of the culture/language diversity con, follows the second papal con called “spiritualism sans religion” and the western liberal political con called clash of civilizations, not clash of religions.
“Living the freedom sought by individuals and peoples is a great challenge to man's spiritual growth and to the moral vitality of nations. Freedom is not simply the absence of tyranny or oppression. Nor is freedom a license to do whatever we like. Freedom has an inner "logic" which distinguishes it and ennobles it: Freedom is ordered to the truth, and is fulfilled in man's quest for truth and in man's living in the truth”.
Let us decode this too. Christianity is a one god, one son and one book religion and does not validate spiritual experiences which by definition cannot belong to the realm of monotheisms. Spiritual growth is predicated on unfettered freedom of the mind to think, feel and experience, while the essence of monotheisms is the curtailment of freedom of the mind to know anything beyond the monotheist, intolerant and demanding God and his prophets. The idea of spirituality was gaining coinage in Europe and America where the Church was faced with empty churches signaling Christianity’s failure to appeal to reason and intellect; the Church also failed to appeal to emotions not hitched to their intolerant God. Consequently, there was a corresponding loss of faith in the Church and Christianity.
Having condemned even the natural stirrings of spirituality in America and Europe as heresy, and confronted by the specter of an ascendant Islam, the Pope had to feign acceptance of spirituality if he had to harvest the souls of the “spiritual” cultures in non-Christian countries and nations. So we now have the papal con “spiritual growth” which however he says, cannot attain fullness unless a person is allowed to seek it in Jesus Christ. Hindus participating in inter-faith dialogues have not asked the Church to explain how, if Jesus Christ is the path, the goal and the truth, can the idea of “spiritual growth” of individuals be reconciled to the unverifiable belief of the historicity of Jesus’ life, his crucifiction and his rising from the dead.
As for the ‘truth” in the papal address, that’s a Christian, in fact a Catholic monopoly. “Freedom is ordered to the truth” said the Pope to the countries of the world in 1995 at the UNGA and also said that that freedom is “fulfilled in man’s quest for truth and in man’s living in the truth”. Hindu nationalists as they wage war against the Church and Islam must never forget that the Second Vatican Council had stated unambiguously that the Vatican while encouraging inter-faith dialogue across “cultures and nations” maintains that while other “cultures” have elements of truth in them, the Catholic Church alone has all the truth; in fact, it is the only repository of truth.
So when Pope John Paul II spoke about freedom of religion being a fundamental freedom and about how this freedom is ordered to the truth and this freedom is fulfilled only when men are allowed to embark “freely” in their quest for truth, and after the quest, to “live” in truth he is actually stating the following –
Freedom of religion is actually a privilege accorded to Christians to undertake religious conversion in non-Christian nations; only we will call it freedom of religion and conscience
Anti-conversion laws are a violation of the Christian right to effect religious conversion of non-Christian Hindus and tribal communities; it is in fact a violation of the right of non-Christians’ “quest for truth”
Hindus cannot reconvert Indian Christians to Hindu dharma because this is a violation of our right to “living in truth”

It all boils down then to conquest of new territories and harvesting new souls for Christ. For Hindus, it boils down to religious conversion. Inter-faith dialogue is a Vatican con intended to get the Church’s future victims to let their guard down. Islam has no problems riding piggy-back on this Christian con in Hindu bhumi if it can use it to further Islam’s unchanging politico-religious objective.
The Huntington-GFCH con called civilization
The Church, Islam or the State of Israel couldn’t care less what articles Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati writes in the New Indian Express or what talks he gives to his captive audience in Chennai or Cincinnati about how all religions do not lead to the same goal. But if Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati as Convener of the HDAS, or any other Hindu sanyasi, or the Indian Government
Can be summoned to the Vatican or Jerusalem or New York to sign declarations and resolutions which only strengthen Abrahamic resolve
If Hindu religious leaders can be made to say good and kind things about these religions and their adherents,
If the nation of Hindus can never have a government which will protect Hindu interests only because these bodies have been disabled and disarmed from fighting the Hindu war
If the highest representative of the Government of India can be summoned to papal presence and pacified into quaking silence,
That is victory and that is what really counts in maintaining the New World Order. All the song and dance ultimately boils down to religious conversion. As Pope John-Paul II put it in plain words-
“And here we can see how important it is to safeguard the fundamental right to freedom of religion and freedom of conscience, as the cornerstones of the structure of human rights and the foundation of every truly free society. No one is permitted to suppress those rights by using coercive power to impose an answer to the mystery of man.
Jesus Christ is for us God made man, and made a part of the history of humanity. Precisely for this reason, Christian hope for the world and its future extends to every human person. Because of the radiant humanity of Christ, nothing genuinely human fails to touch the hearts of Christians.
Therefore, as we approach the 2,000th anniversary of the birth of Christ, the church asks only to be able to propose respectfully this message of salvation and to be able to promote, in charity and service, the solidarity of the entire human family”.
The HDAS, seven years after its creation, has failed comprehensively to deal effectively with the twin menace of Islam and the Church. It has done little, in fact nothing to check the inroads that Islam and the Church have made in the three southern states. As Pujya Udipi Pejawara Matha Swamiji pointed out to the writer, the threat to Hindu dharma and Hindus from the Church and Islam is as acute in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh as it is in Tamil Nadu. Entire fishing hamlets, coastal villages, more and more districts in Tamil Nadu are now Christian and Muslim strongholds – Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Tirunelvelli, North Arcot, Dindukkal (Dindigul) and Ramnad districts are the bastion of Muslims while Kanyakumari, Tirunelvelli Dindukkal, Chengalpet and Thiruvallur districts are witnessing the menacing presence of churches of all denominations.
Chennai, the capital of TN is witnessing the obscene flaunting of Muslim and Christian symbols in public spaces, completely disproportionate to their actual numbers. This flaunting of symbols has been enabled by the astronomical amounts of money pouring into the country from Christian and Muslim countries.
The only force that can challenge the State in India is the HDAS; the HDAS was created to be the collective voice of all Hindus reflecting Hindu concerns and to protect Hindu dharma and dharmi. Astronomical amounts of money pouring into the country for “charity and service”, which the Pope said in 1997, would be used to promote the solidarity of the human family. Family, as we all know, is a homogenous entity. So when the Pope said he would use charity and service to promote the solidarity of the entire human family he meant the entire Christian human family.
Samuel Huntington’s Clash of civilizations prognosis was a well-argued rebuttal of Fukuyama’s self-satisfied end of history proclamation. As early as in 1993, Huntington could feel the beginning of the tremors of resistance to the uni-polar world order which was being seen as a White Christian (sans the Orthodox Church) world order; only he did not have the stomach to articulate the fact that the resistance to White Christian world order would come from other religions. Political observers and thinkers across the world were so afraid of the scenario that Huntington had unveiled, that no one asked him “what civilizations”?
We know of the Greek, Roman, Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Mayan and Inca, Confucian and Saraswati-Indus (Hindu) civilizations. Except for the Hindu and Confucian civilizations, all other civilizations have been wiped off the face of the earth without trace in living societies. Of the nine blocs which Huntington lists as forces of resistance to the White-Christian uni-polar world order, – Western, Latin-American, African, Islamic, Sinic, Hindu, Orthodox, Buddhist and Japanese, except for the Hindu and what Huntington calls Sinic civilizations, all others are religions; lest there is any lingering doubt about whether Hinduism is a religion or civilization, let me emphasize that all civilizations, as the writer understands the word, were the beautiful flowering of non-monotheist, pre-Christian, pre-Islamic religions. Islam and Christianity destroyed all civilizations except the Hindu and Sinic civilizations. The African continent was divided equally between Islam and the Church and although a few vestiges of the ancient and proud tribal religion remain, African societies have been irretrievably Islamised and Christianized and tribal customs can at best survive only as peripheral ‘inculturation’ devices within Christianity and as terrible heresy within Islam.
So when the GFCH website flaunts its foolishness with “All religions lead to God” and the priceless “We can learn from all civilizations”, enraged Hindus must ask Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati to tell us if he really thinks all religions lead to God and if Hindu dharma can really learn anything from the Abrahamic religions. After all, to which civilizations is the Chennai clique referring to when they say “we” can learn from all civilizations as their self-identity on the GFCH website.
From a passionate declaration in 2003 about how religious conversion is violence against the individual, family and society, the tone and content of the HDAS resolutions on religious conversion become more and more muted until in 2007 and then in 2010, there is just a perfunctory mention of religious conversion which is today, the most menacing threat confronting Hindu survival on Hindu bhumi and no mention at all from 2005 onwards about the threat posed by foreign funds which alone is powering not only religious conversion but also the growing control and ownership by Christians and Muslims of agricultural lands, commercial enterprises, schools, colleges, universities, small trade and commerce, venture capital and finance, inroads into films, small screen, and print and electronic media. From stronghold to stranglehold, Islam and the Church are holding the Hindus of the three southern states in a death grip.
The HDAS’ diminishing interest in internal matters coincides with the rise of the Chennai clique in 2006 and their international inter-faith misadventures. Given the nature and extent of the threat faced by Hindus on Hindu bhumi how can the HDAS explain its preoccupation with American text books, books on American academe written by NRIs and PIOs in America, Wendy Doniger, global warming, and human rights and passing resolutions about thanking some outside and inside agencies for recognizing the HDAS as the apex body of all Hindus? How can it justify and explain the glowing reference to the GFCH in its 2010 resolutions in Hyderabad? Most importantly, how can the HDAS justify or even explain the declarations and resolutions it signed in Italy, at The Hague and in Jerusalem? (To be continued)

Destroy the Asuras The Atlantic Slave Trade, colonization of continents, the Spanish, Portuguese and Goa Inquisitions and Nazism demonstrated the Church’s capacity to use the secular Christian State for its political objective to win territories for the father-who-art-in-heaven. Slave trade, colonialism, Inquisition and Nazism rampaged across the world leaving behind in their wake, organized and targeted genocide of non-Christians, the worst human rights abuses, the worst crimes against women in particular and humanity at large, and the worst possible war crimes by the Church and its partner the Christian State on a never-before-scale seen in history.
The only parallel to this sustained and continuing till the present day, typically Abrahamic Christian violence and brutality against peoples of the world is the Abrahamic Muslim invasion of Hindu India lasting over 800 years and still going strong. The League of Nations came into being in 1920 in the immediate aftermath of the intra-Christian First World War while its offspring the United Nations was created in 1946 in the aftermath of the intra-Christian Second World War with the express but unstated intent to punish the perpetrators of Nazism and as collective Christian expiation, give to the traumatized and dispersed Jewish people in 1948, the State of Israel as their homeland.
For some inexplicable reason the Jews have failed to articulate the fact that Nazism, like slavery and colonialism was also a Christian derivative and a continuation of the abomination called Inquisition. Taking refuge behind the shield provided to them by the Jews to hide their sins against humanity and Creation, White Christian countries set in motion the process of creating a world body of countries with a charter of virtues they had no moral right to draft, much less enforce or implement.
As colonialism ended and the former colonies struggled to restore the roots of their nationhood and re-assert their nationalism, the United Nations, as was intended with foresight, became an instrument of American foreign policy and evolved into a tool of harassment of countries and leaders standing up to the White Christian poles of post-colonial world order.
The role of the United Nations as perceived by political observers, from the time when the UN handed the fledgling republic of Indonesia back to its colonial oppressors in 1946 (as the first good deed in the service of its masters), and until its condemnable role in enforcing America’s genocidal 13 year long economic sanctions against the people of Iraq, only substantiates the writer’s charge that the UN is an instrument of White Christian foreign policy.
The UN must do away with the "small privileged class" of nations called the Security Council and make the General Assembly the only decision-making body to transform itself into a truly democratic organization. If a democratic body called General Assembly is marginalized and overruled by a privileged oligarchy called the Security Council, we may yet see the day when the self-serving UNSC may push victim nations and the rest of the quiescent world to render the United Nations either ineffective or irrelevant to international relations.
As long as the UN continues to have one set of rules for Slobodan Milosevic and Saddam Hussein and another for Bush and Blair, the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights can at best be a source of mirthful entertainment. Any reference therefore to the UN Declaration of Human Rights and its amendment, Faith in Human Rights (The Hague, December, 2008) in HDAS resolutions must be firmly rejected by Hindus as a significant point of reference in religious or even political issues.
The HDAS must free itself from the stranglehold of this outward-looking, global-minded small and privileged class and revert to looking inwards as is becoming of the highest body representing Hindus on Hindu bhumi. Its gaze must remain fixed on the two most menacing threats to Hindus and Hindu dharma
- religious conversion and foreign money to Christians and Muslims.
Inter-faith dialogues legitimise the Asuras
The writer intends to redirect the attention of the HDAS to the threat of religious conversion to Hindu survival. As pointed out in part 3 of this series, the HDAS from the resounding condemnation in 2003 that religious conversion is violence against the individual, family and society, has speedily reduced the condemnation to a whimper. Let us go back to the papal address at the UNGA in 1995.

Now let us decode these pregnant declarations -
The pope claims seeking an answer to the ‘mystery of man’ is the objective of religious pursuit; needless to say, Hindus think otherwise which however is not germane to this article.
Other popes before John Paul II, through encyclicals and exhortations have claimed that only the Church, particularly the Catholic Church has the answer to this mystery and is therefore the only repository of truth; needless to say again, Hindus not only think otherwise but think the Church’s position is untenable in dharma.
The concept of Freedom of Religion as a clause in the UN Charter on Human Rights receives a big boost and is promoted to high status as political weapon and Christian foreign policy tool by the Pope and the UN in 1995 in the context of Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine and other former Soviet Republics denying the Vatican, American and European Protestant churches permission to open shop in their countries which have historically been bastions of the Orthodox church
We must recollect here that the Vatican and the US had been conspiring for decades not only to break up the Soviet Union but also to wipe off the Orthodox Church already weakened by communism
And that is why the UN has one set of rules for the Slavic Orthodox Christian Slobodan Milosevic and the Muslim Saddam Hussein and another set for Bush and Blair and their Catholic and Protestant partners-in-war-crimes in Iraq
When resurgent nationalism in Russia underscored the basis of its nationhood to be Slavic Orthodox as articulated by Alexander Solzhenitsyn in 1991 in his brilliant monograph "How do we re-build Russia" and refused to let the predators in, the Vatican and other rabid American denominations felt cheated and so promoted the concept of freedom of religion as a political weapon
If the pope picked his cue from Huntington’s analysis that the new world order would be White Christian West versus the rest, to publicly air the Christian hegemonic intent in the UNGA in 1995, the US backed the pope to the hilt and constituted the Bureau of Labor, Democracy and Human Rights as a subsidiary within the US State Department and also constituted the bi-partisan USCIRF; both organs were created to monitor the state of the health of Christianity in the countries of the world
"Coercive power to impose an answer to the mystery of man" means governments of non-Christian countries like Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and state governments in India which felt compelled to put anti-conversion laws in place to protect religions native to their countries
The pope asserted in 1995 that he will exercise his right to declare to all peoples of the world that salvation is possible only through Jesus Christ and he will forge solidarity of humankind in uniting all humans under Christ
The most important part of this manic insistence is that the pope will promote the church, or as he himself put it brazenly in Indian soil in 1999, he will plant the cross in Asia in the third millennium using "charity and service" as weapons
All this is contained in just these two sentences of the papal address in 1995 to the UNGA; only we must have the political sense to realize it. "Charity and service" is sweet-talk for the latest and most profitable Church industry, both in terms of money and souls harvested for Christ
- the Christian NGO industry using social work and Teresa-like charity to spread Christianity like some cancerous cell within Hindu and tribal societies.

According to Prof. R Vaidyanathan and Sanjeev Nayyar who have undertaken a thorough analysis of foreign funding for NGOs in India, there has been a phenomenal leap of 56% in the quantum of foreign funds in just one year between 2006-’07 while between 1993 and 2007 foreign funds into India has increased by a whopping 650%. Those pumping this kind of obscene money are the foreign churches and those receiving this money are Indian churches and Christian agencies.
The writer was compelled to undertake this harsh criticism of the HDAS resolutions and Convener for failing to grapple with the menace which the writer was witnessing in Chennai and in all Tamil Nadu
- the church spreading like some incurable disease in the body of the Hindu nation. Incoherent and spluttering bhaktas of the Convener HDAS must first digest these facts -
Between 1993-94 and 2006-07 a sum of Rs. 64,670 crores was the sum of Foreign Contributions received into India by organizations registered with the Home Ministry, Govt. of India and who filed their declarations.
Total funds received per annum have gone up from Rs. 1865 to 12,290 crores (1993-94 to 2006-07) i.e. an increase of 650%
The % of associations submitting details of foreign contributions has fallen from 66% in 1997-98 to 56% in 2006-07. That means that the actual amount of foreign contributions received is much higher than the reported Rs 12,290 crores in 2006-07.
Foreign contributions have increased by over 100% since the UPA came to power.
Top remitting countries are USA, Germany and UK. Amounts remitted between 2002 and ‘03 to 2006-‘07 are Rs. 10,589 crores, Rs. 5,233 crores and Rs. 4,612 crores (in descending chronology of years for the concerned period)
Top Donor Agencies in these years are Western read Christian countries except for a contribution from Liaison Office Dalai Lama Japan in 2006-07.
Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra are top receivers of foreign contributions.
Tamil Nadu receipts jumped from Rs. 775 crores in 2002-03 to Rs. 2244 corers in 2006-07, nearly a 200% increase.
Chennai, Ranchi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Uttara Kannada and Hyderabad are amongst the districts which received maximum foreign contributions.
Many districts of Tamil Nadu received over Rs. 100 crores each in 2006-07.
Key Donors do not appear from the Muslim world which probably means they may be remitting in large sums through the Hawala and other non-legal and illegal sources

Tamil Nadu is the largest recipient of foreign Church funds with Chennai city topping the list. As this analysis points out, Tamil Nadu has the most number of NGOs and the majority of Christian NGOs are in the districts of Chennai, Kanyakumari, Dindukkal and Tiruvallur. This then is the charity and service weapon which Pope John Paul II declared the church would deploy to harvest Hindu and other non-Christian souls in Asia. As Vaidyanathan’s and Nayyar’s comprehensive analysis reveal, if the Vatican comes, can other churches be far behind? The Chennai clique and its overseas compatriots who created the GFCH and who are meddling in the affairs of the HDAS ought to inform themselves of these figures.
From the papal address to the UNGA in 1995, let us move forward to the inter-faith convention organized by the Vatican and the WCC in Lariano, Italy, 2006 where the three Hindus either representing the HDAS or representing the Convener HDAS, besides accepting to be placed in the same category as genocidal Islam and Christianity, besides accepting that Hindus have been as guilty as Christians and Muslims for crimes against humanity, also allowed Clause 7 which acknowledged the immense service to humanity which Christian and Muslim NGOs, deceptively labeled "faith communities" by the Church, were undertaking around the world!

Pious platitudes be damned but the Hindus who participated in this inter-faith convention, if they had had an iota of political sense, would have fiercely resisted inclusion of this clause in the final draft; placing these resolutions on the HDAS website without any qualifying statement by the Secretariat of the HDAS actually means the Sankaracharya of Puri, Kanchi, the Mahamandaleswars, the Akharas, the ancient Srivaishnava and Saiva mathas, who are the most threatened by the diseased Church, have endorsed the charity & service weapon of the Church and Islam. It means only this, not a whit less.
From UNGA 1995, it is but a small step to that wondrous creature of Hindu imagination, the GFCH. When the Church moves, it moves very fast; but Hindus move even faster it would seem to fulfill the Church agenda. The GFCH did not germinate in a Muslim or Christian mind; it was a Hindu idea which was nurtured in Gujarat in January 2006 and realized in January 2008.
Let us for the moment set aside the utterly bizarre and unrealistic objectives of the GFCH which bear a close resemblance to Gandhi’s enthusiastic support for Khilafat which, Gandhi insisted to the INC would win the hearts and minds of Muslims.
"In the area of humanitarian service in times of need, what we can do together, we should not do separately", said the pope piously and the GFCH picked up the cue smartly. The GFCH held the Hindu Spiritual and Service Fair twice in the last twelve months. An excellent initiative, this should have been a stand-alone move to bring together Hindu religious, cultural and service organizations; instead at a press conference on the eve of the first fair in February 2009, it was announced with great pride and fanfare that the GFCH planned to hold similar fairs for Christians and Muslims. Ignoring the anger which this pronouncement invoked among a section of political-minded Hindus, the GFCH with supreme arrogance not only refused to give the protesters a hearing but went ahead and made the same announcement on the concluding day of the second fair in December 2009.
Muslims and Christians were undertaking social charity and advocacy missions directly targeting Hindus and Hindu dharma with the foreign money pouring into the country. Notwithstanding the overwhelming evidence against Muslim and Christian NGOs undertaking so-called service work, the GFCH insisted on holding such fairs for Christians and Muslims too. "This was the first of many such fairs which will be later held on bigger scale in different parts of the country by the other Chapters of GFCH and the Fair will be extended to spiritual and religious organizations belonging to other faiths such as Islam and Christianity to showcase their contributions to the society".http://www.gfchindia.com
Just to emphasize how Hindus at home are unable to perceive where the GFCH ends and HDAS begins, the HDAS resolutions passed in Hyderabad on the 11th January, 2010, sings odes to this "spiritual and service fair" misadventure by the GFCH
"In this connection, the Acharya Sabha noted that a large number of Hindu organizations participated in the Fair held recently in Chennai and that the wide variety and volume of socio-economic projects undertaken under Hindu organizations surprised the general public and the Media". http://www.vigilonline.com
This is a travesty of the truth. Whoever drafted the resolutions of HDAS 2010, with deliberate intent failed to tell us if the Acharya Sabha was informed about the fact that this fair was organized under GFCH aegis and that the GFCH intended to hold similar fairs for Christians and Muslims; and if the HDAS was indeed given all the information, how did other venerable Gurus, Acharyas, Mahalmandaleswars and Akharas react to this statement of intent -
"To showcase their contributions to the society"! The writer cannot help but recall Gandhi’s (in)famous reaction after the jihadi Moplah massacre of Hindus in Kerala.
"Everything is fair in love and war with the Maulana. He has made up his mind that the Moplahs have fought for their religion. And that fact (in his estimation) practically absolves the Moplahs from all blame. That is no doubt a travesty of religion and morality. But to do irreligion for the sake of religion is the religious creed of Maulana Hasrat Mohani. I know it has no warrant in Islam. I have talked to several learned Mussulmans. They do not defend Hasrat Mohani’s attitude. I advise my Malabar friends (outraged Hindus) not to mind the Maulana. In spite of his amazingly crude views about religion, there is no greater nationalist or a greater lover of Hindu-Muslim unity than the Maulana. His heart is sound and superior to his intellect, which, in my humble opinion, has suffered aberration. The Malabar friends are wrong in thinking that the Mussulmans in general have not condemned or have in any way approved of the various crimes committed by the Moplahs. Islam protects even in war women, children and old men from molestation. Islam does not justify jehad except under well-defined conditions. So far as I know the law of Islam, the Moplahs could not, on their own initiative, declare jehad. Maulana Abdul Bari has certainly condemned the Moplah excesses.
I see nothing impossible in Hindus, as Indians, trying to wean the Moplahs, as Indians, from their error. I see nothing impossible in asking the Hindus to develop courage and strength to die before accepting forced conversion. I was delighted to be told that there were Hindus who did prefer the Moplah hatchet to forced conversion. If these have died without anger or malice, they have died as truest Hindus because they were truest among Indians and men. Inspired by the same self-destructive for Hindus Gandhian fantasy of Hindu-Muslim unity and inter-religious relations, the GFCH embarked on a similar journey -
One of the initiatives taken by the GFCH is to work with the Dar-ul-Uloom Deobandin the efforts of the latter to hold rallies against terrorism and to promote religious harmony in different parts of India. The GFCH is planning to undertake more initiatives to promote understanding and harmony among different religious and spiritual organizations.
Beginning with New Delhi, these conventions witnessed the Deoband School issuing 'Fatwa' against terrorism and describing such violent activities as Un-Islamic. These conventions, supported by organizations such as Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind, were held in Hyderabad and Bangalore also and were attended among others by prominent leaders from other religions including Hinduism. On behalf of GFCH, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar addressed the rally in Hyderabad in October 2008.
Anti-Terrorism Global Peace Conference, New Delhi, May 31, 2008
Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, one of the leading Islamic organisations, along with several other Muslim outfits owing allegiance to different sects and ideologies, issued a "fatwa" against terrorism at the Anti-Terrorism Global Peace Conference at Ramlila Grounds in New Delhi.
The conference, organised as part of a series of such public meetings across the country, adopted a seven-point declaration condemning the propaganda that "regards terrorism as synonymous with jehad."
"There is a world of difference between terrorism and jehad. Jehad is constructive and terrorism is destructive. Jehad is for the establishment of peace; terrorism is the gravest crime as held by Koran and Islam," the declaration said.
The Chennai clique, its expanding circle of global compatriots and the Convener HDAS who is also Founder-Patron of GFCH would do well to remember that Gandhi’s mind-stunning folly in leading the INC on the wild-goose-chase for Hindu-Muslim unity and his persistence in interpreting Islam to Hindus as Islam is this or Islam is not that led the Hindu nation to vivisection; not that alone, the Muslims who stayed back in India continue to wage jihad against the Hindus as attested to by the HDAS resolution referring to the district of Melvisharam in Tamil Nadu.
What the HDAS failed to mention was that the Muslims of Pommalampatti village falling under Periayakulam Taluk in Theni district, do not permit Hindus to celebrate Deepavalli. Hindus who lit fireworks on that day were physically assaulted and intimidated. The Muslims of Pommalampatti have re-named it Tulukampatti, which translates as Muslim village.
The Muslims of Tamil Nadu have also pressured successive state governments to neutralise and reduce to damp squib the once vibrant Ganesh Chaturti celebrations and processions. The celebration of Bakrid, in stark contrast has become offensively ostentatious with growing numbers of camels and goats paraded in the open streets of Tamil Nadu, as they are readied for slaughter; the alarming growth of animals for slaughter, particularly the camel, on that day is a sign of growing Muslim economic, social and political power.
Completely discounting ground reality about Muslim religious demography and visible financial clout in Tamil Nadu and impervious to the enormous success that the Church has already achieved in harvesting Hindu souls, and unwilling to even consider the idea of dealing with the menace by dealing sternly with Indian polity at home, the GFCH wants to go global to deal with the predatory Church; and the Convener HDAS is going global too.
The GFCH website vision/mission statement that it intends to hold discussions with the Russian Orthodox Church to mobilize international opinion against religious conversion, finds its echo in the opening paragraphs of the HDAS resolutions of 2010 which mentions that Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati visited Moscow to meet with the Russian Orthodox Church in his capacity as Convener HDAS.
"There must be an effort to address and involve civilizational groups linked to the Christian and Jewish faiths, sections of which, even though they have conflict of interests with non-aggressive civilizations. There must be an effort to make them conscious of the real need for a solution driven civilizational approach in the context of the increasing perception that militant Islam is the most potent threat at the current historical juncture. Concurrently, denominations among the Christians, like Russian Orthodox Church, Greek Orthodox Church, which are not fundamentally proselytizing in nature, could be leveraged to make global opinion against religious conversions which is amongst the principal reasons for civilizational disharmony particularly between the proselytizing faiths and non-aggressive Hindu-Buddhist faiths". http://www.gfchindia.com
Gibberish in high places is the stuff nightmares are made of but if we bravely trudge through the jungle brush we can glean that the GFCH/HDAS tweedledum/tweedledee intend to -
Hold talks with Christians and Jews (these are Vatican and American/European Protestant Christians as different from Orthodox Christians) to sell them the lemon that the world, or should it be the globe, needs to adopt a civilizational approach to militant Islam (what this civilisational approach is, is anybody’s fantasy)

For every Hindu, Kurukshetra is here and now
Hindu nationalists must keep their eyes pinned on the issue of religious conversion. In the end, for Hindus, it is not just about world order but the content and character of the world. It is the Hindu understanding of what constitutes dharma that determines the fundamentals of Hindu traditions, which includes tradition of statecraft -
Realizing God is not the goal of Hindu dharma; it is to know the self, and the place of the self in Creation which includes in the main the non-human world; that knowledge can be called truth or god or it can remain nameless
Therefore there is no jealous, intolerant God who like the lion in the Panchatantra will not allow another God in the territory he has marked as his domain
Hindus believe every individual can traverse the path of his choice to attain this supreme knowledge
Therefore the very idea that someone or something is the sole repository of the ultimate truth is the very antithesis to dharma
Therefore the idea of one true god, one true religion, one true prophet has no place in Hindu dharma
Therefore Hindus felt no need to convert peoples of other faiths to their faith
Therefore conquering territory in the name of this one true god, one true religion and one true prophet was never and is not the Hindu way; religion was about knowing the self, not about conquering territory for some fantasy called kingdom of god be it the Christian or Muslim god
However Hindu kings and Hindu states whose primary responsibility is dharma paripaalana, to protect and uphold dharma, have always waged war against kings and states that violated dharma, subdued them and restored the nation back to dharma
Religious conversion is thus a violation of dharma and Hindus are obliged to destroy this Asura. One angry bhakta of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati sent the following excerpt of his talk delivered in Montreal, little realizing that he was only proving the writer’s point that Hindus lack political sense and have no conception of the threat posed to us by politics of religion. It is important to understand this talk to understand why the writer believes the HDAS is being derailed from its path and is being made a piece on the global chess board where the core objective of the battle is to keep only the monotheist god on the board.
"The Human Rights UN charter has the article number 18, which talks about the right to change one's religion. If one wants to change one's religion, one must not be denied that freedom. One can change one's religion in private, and in community, and one should be able to profess one's religion. It is a good thing that we have in the Charter of this global body, a clause protecting religious freedom, but then this freedom, like any freedom, has certain responsibility.
Therefore, I have the right to be a Christian, a Muslim, a Parsi, or a Hindu. As it is, it is my responsibility to see that I do not destroy the Christian culture and religion; I cannot retain the culture and tradition unless I retain the Christian. You cannot protect Islam, without protecting a Muslim. To protect is to allow the person to have his or her form of prayer, tradition, and culture. You cannot protect dharma, without protecting the dharmi. A live culture or religion is protected by protecting the one who lives it. A practitioner of Islam or Christianity has a right to practice and preach his or her religion. Whatever your rights, I will defend them at any forum, but this cannot give you a sanction to have a program of aggression and destruction".
This really is the crux of the problem. The fundamental responsibility of any Acharya or Guru is to protect Hindu dharma and the dharmi. Protecting dharma also entails destroying the Asura who is not only violating dharma but is threatening to destroy it; the Asura must therefore be destroyed or permanently subdued. Acharyas and Gurus, and by extension the Acharya Sabha are not required to be politically correct, are not required to genuflect to the United Nations or any global or international body; and are not mandated to sing dulcet tunes for acceptability in international forums.
Pujya Swamiji knows that Dharma and Dharmi cannot be protected if he declares that it is his responsibility to see that he does not destroy the Christian culture and religion. Pujya Swamiji knows that if Christianity and Islam live in this world, then other religions and other peoples have to die. Extermination of other faiths and nations is the end objective of both Islam and the Church. If Pujya Swamiji commits himself to protecting Christians and Muslims, he has to protect them on Hindu bhumi too; this is protecting the Asura, not destroying him. Dharma paripaalana and protecting the Asura are self-contradictory objectives and therefore untenable in reason and logic.
Our Acharyas and Gurus are mandated only to speak the truth when and if they have to speak at all; and the truth is Islam and the Church are Asuric religions because they are the very antithesis to dharma. These religions, which pose a threat to the survival of Hindus and Hindu dharma on Hindu bhumi, have to be either destroyed or effectively subdued. If Pujya Swamiji really believes in all that he spoke in Montreal, Hindu nationalists have real cause for concern about the effectiveness of the HDAS to protect dharma and dharmi in this country.
"Whatever your rights, I will defend them in any forum" cannot be an article of faith for one whose primary responsibility is to protect dharma on dharma bhumi. Pujya Swamiji would have electrified his audience and sent shock-waves around the world, if, as Convener Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha he had declared that Islam and Christianity can exist with dignity on Hindu bhumi only and only if the Church agrees to stop converting non-Hindus in India and if Islam agrees to live in Hindu-majority India as Hindus live in Muslim-majority countries. Pujya Swamiji would have given voice to all Hindus had he stated that the HDAS would now pressure the Indian government to put in place a national law to ban religious conversion to the Abrahamic faiths and disallow foreign remittances to Muslim and Christian religious organizations and NGOs.
Now let us contrast Pujya Swamiji’s Montreal statement to the bombshell that Pujya Kanchi Acharya dropped at the inter-faith dialogue in Mumbai in June
- Taking the Lariano inter-faith resolution, "In the area of humanitarian service in times of need, what we can do together, we should not do separately" with total seriousness, Pujya Kanchi Acharya told the shell-shocked Vatican representative that all monies coming into the country from foreign Churches and western countries should be placed in a common pool in this country. The monies thus collected ought to be used in the service of all peoples without distinction of religions. The ball is now in the Vatican court. What we can do together we should not do separately must begin with the foreign funds that Churches abroad send to the Churches at home.http://www.vigilonline.com
The writer has it from the highest authority that the resolutions passed on the 11th January at Hyderabad had already been drafted by the 7th January and a draft copy of the resolutions was given to at least one Acharya for his perusal. This means the resolutions had been drafted before the issues were discussed by the Acharyas and Gurus in the HDAS.
The resolutions mention the UN special convention on human rights titled "Faith in Human Rights" in The Hague, Netherlands in December
- The press-note released on the proceedings of the HDAS and the HDAS resolution referring to the UN convention read as follows -
"Elaborating further he said that, as the Convener of Acharya Sabha, he was invited to the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 10th December 2008 at The Hague, Netherlands. There, at the Conference he was able to have a declaration passed that it would be a serous Human Rights violation if one interferes with the individual’s "freedom to have, to retain and to adopt a religion or belief of one’s personal choice without coercion or inducement". The Acharya Sabha considers this "2008 Faith in Human Rights Statement" signed by all religious leaders as a major success for the Hindu Community at large, which has been at the receiving end of conversions for decades now".
The Acharya Sabha meet in Hyderabad will therefore address the way forward on the issues that are on top of every Hindu’s mind.
1. How to attain the Right to Religion which is consistent with the "UN 2008 Faith in Human Rights Resolution." Clearly conversion based on derogatory statements about Hinduism or coercion or inducement will have to be stopped by strong amendment in our laws. (Press-note 1)
1c) Participation in an UN Conference in December 2008 at The Hague where the UN Declaration on Human Rights was re-visited, on behalf of the Acharya Sabha. Some important changes were made in the final document to describe "Religious Freedom"; this was to reflect the concerns of the Acharya Sabha and Hindu Society on the "right to religious conversion" by Abrahamic religions. (HDAS Resolutions, 11th January, 2010)
The Hague convention in December 2008 finds mention in the HDAS resolutions because at this convention, Pujya Swamiji who participated on behalf of the HDAS and all Hindus, succeeded in getting the gathering to re-visit the UN Declaration on Human Rights. The press-note cited earlier also declares that the resolutions of "Faith in Human Rights" signed by all religious leaders gathered there "as a major success for the Hindu community large". This is a significant claim and deserves great attention.
Before we examine The Hague convention, we must consider the serious charge that Pujya Swamiji is making against religious leaders of the Abrahamic faiths at other inter-faith and multi-faith dialogues and conferences. Pujya Swamiji had this to say in Montreal -
"In all conferences I have attended, I am asked to help with the committee that drafts resolutions. I always have asked for the term "mutual respect among all religions" to be included as one of the resolutions, but always this mutual respect clause is struck down, and is replaced by "freedom of religion." The freedom of religion is understood by some as the freedom to preach and convert with an evangelistic program. They feel they are mandated to convert, and they think they are saving souls".
The Convener of the Acharya Sabha admits that "freedom of religion" is interpreted by the Church as the fundamental right to convert non-Christians. The idea that an individual can change religions is an Abrahamic religious concept. As mentioned earlier, non-Christian, non-Islamic and pre-Christian, pre-Islamic religions do not subscribe to the idea that a person can change his religion. In Hindu understanding, just as one cannot change one’s mother, one can also not change one’s language, religion and nationality which an individual inherits as his timeless legacy at birth.
Islam and Christianity have occupied by violence the territories that belonged to other religions; these two Abrahamic religions can therefore not claim any country as their homeland. They are invaders, usurpers and settlers wherever they are located today. These two religions came into being only through religious conversion. And what these predatory religions have usurped with force and violence, they are not going to give up without a bloody war. It is time Hindus realize and accept this fact.
Thus clause number 18 in the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, drafted in 1948 gives a bizarre proposition the high status of fundamental human rights, but which is totally compatible with the nature of the Abrahamic religions.
Article 15
(1) Everyone has the right to a nationality.
(2) No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality nor denied the right to change his nationality.
Article 18
Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief
Nation is different from country; nationality is different from citizenship; and nationalism is different from patriotism. These distinctions are rooted in the fundamental distinction of ‘us’ and ‘them’; who belongs and who does not belong. The Vatican knows this and so do the White Christian countries; but it serves the political objectives of their religion to make them interchangeable concepts and if the concepts defy interchange, then outlaw the distinction as the pope did in 1995 at the UNGA.
"We need to clarify the essential difference between an unhealthy form of nationalism, which teaches contempt for other nations or cultures, and patriotism, which is a proper love of one's country. True patriotism never seeks to advance the well-being of one's own nation at the expense of others. For in the end, this would harm one's own nation as well".
It is unnecessary to dissect this obviously untenable papal assertion. Sonia Gandhi may be an Indian citizen but she is an Italian national. If it is possible for an individual to change his nationality, then what is African-American, Latin-American, Indian-American, Native-American, even when they are all American citizens?
Hindus must confront the Abrahamic world and assert that we do not subscribe to religious conversion and so the only change that will be permitted on Hindu bhumi is for the converts to return to the religions native to this bhumi. This forceful assertion, in one stroke will render the preposterous idea of "freedom of religion" and all its attendant baggage, meaningless in this Hindu nation. As stated earlier, Hindu Dharmacharyas do not need to make politically correct or internationally acceptable statements.
Going back to the convention on "Faith in Human Rights" in The Hague, in December 2008, it has been claimed that Pujya Swamiji made a significant intervention to the UN Charter of Human Rights favourable to Hindus. But is this claim true?
First, the writer is open to correction but the UN webpage on Human Rights does not mention this convention at all. The text of the resolutions signed by the group of multi-religious leaders is also not displayed prominently, if it is displayed at all. If The Hague convention made a significant amendment to the "freedom of religion and conscience" clause in the charter of human rights, the clause which is cited by the Church as legal mandate to convert non-Christians, then the amendment does not show in the original charter, either in the body of the main charter or as a separate amendment text.

The Hyderabad HDAS resolutions state that the 1948 Charter of Human Rights was "revisited" and that some important changes were made to the final draft of the resolutions passed at The Hague. So, changes were made only to the final draft of the resolutions at The Hague convention, not the original charter, which remains as it was. This should not surprise us because as Pujya Swamiji himself said in Montreal the Abrahamic religions will not permit any change in the "freedom of religion" clause which is their international legal license to destroy other religions and eventually annihilate all non-Christian nations.
The said clause in The Hague statement reads as follows -
8. We note with serious concern the increase of intolerance in matters relating to religion or belief, of cases of incitement to religious hatred, overt or covert. While emphasising the importance of the freedom of expression, we deplore portrayals of objects of religious veneration which fail to be properly respectful of the sensibilities of believers. We consider the freedom to have, to retain and to adopt a religion or belief of one’s personal choice, without coercion or inducement, to be an undeniable right. Furthermore, the freedom to manifest one’s religion or belief in any form of worship, observance, practice and teaching may only be subject to carefully defined limitations consistent with generally accepted principles of international law.
This is not going to deter Islam or the Church even an iota from their ultimate goal to Islamise and Christianise the world. The words ‘without coercion and inducement’ are totally meaningless and self-defeating. The person or persons who drafted the HDAS resolutions for 2010 must tell us why the Pope or any other Christian cannot repeat the same clause, word for word and interpret it in their favour; only they will now say that re-conversion of Christians and Muslims to Hinduism and other religions native to this soil, as per Resolution 8 of The Hague "Faith in Human Rights" convention is violation of the UN charter.
It is inconceivable that a Hindu religious leader would be allowed to shake even a single brick of this international edifice. Consider the list of participants which itself is revealing
- three Muslim clerics, two of them from Iraq, representing three Islamic denominations we may presume, three Rabbis representing the Jewish people, two Buddhists including the Dalai Lama, one Hindu Guru, one Tao religious leader, one Native American Elder and seven members of the Christian religious Hierarchy! If any Hindu had any doubts about the religious affiliation and bias of the United Nations, these doubts must now be laid to rest.
One participant who caught the writer’s eye was His Excellency Mgr. Dr. Gerard J.N de Korte, Bishop of Groningen, The Netherlands, responsible for Commission Justicia et Pax, The Netherlands. The writer wonders if Pujya Swamiji knew of the shenanigans of Justicia et Pax in India and if he did, what did Pujya Swamiji and the good reverend talk about over tea. The Vigil book on NGOs made a pointed reference to Justicia et Pax for not only meddling in the internal affairs of Hindu society but also internationalising them with the sole objective of defaming Hindus and Hinduism.
Church-backed and Church-funded NGOs focus exclusively on dalit localities and women’s issues. The dalit issue has been internationalised precisely because of the involvement of local and foreign churches in so-called ‘dalit welfare’. ‘Dalit’ is a 20th century Christian missionary construct with explicit political overtones and objectives.
As pointed out earlier, this project receives funds from the churches in the Netherlands. Cordaid, ICCO and Indian Committee of the Netherlands are Dutch Christian NGOs which actively campaign against the Hindus in the guise of dalit human rights with the European Parliament.
Justitia et Pax is the world-wide organisation for ‘justice and peace’ of the Catholic Church. It aims to inspire and mobilise Catholics to commit themselves to human rights, and advises and supports bishops and church organisations in the area of justice and peace.
Justitia et Pax works to improve the miserable living conditions of the dalits (untouchables) in India. Together with the Landelijke India Werkgroep, CMC and ICCO, Justitia et Pax has founded the Dalit Network Netherlands (DNN). In October the campaign ‘Stop Caste Discrimination
- Support the Dalits’ was launched. In its lobbying work the DNN mainly focused on the Dutch EU Presidency.http://www.vigilonline.com
There is nothing, absolutely nothing for Hindus in these inter-faith and multi-faith dialogues and conferences. Sitting around the table with powerful Asuras may give Hindus a sense of importance and lull Hindus into a false sense of comfort that our enemies can be won over to our way of thought and worldview. This is Gandhian folly.
The resolutions of HDAS 2010 point to the direction in which this body is headed. The resolutions can be summarized briefly under these broad categories -
Listing all international inter-faith conferences attended by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati as Convener HDAS
All Hindu issues which have merited the personal attention of Dr. Subramaniam Swamy and future measures which will give him an even greater role in the affairs of the HDAS
Mention of spasmodic and innocuous activities like compiling and publishing the first edition of the Acharya Sabha directory, publishing a news letter, protesting Hydro-dams on Upper Ganga and Bhagirathi and the like
Reference to the resources available at Sastra University to set up a center for Hindu Heritage (Sastra university is one of the Chennai clique’s expanding circles)
Intention to create an international body like the United Nations to deal with religious and cultural affairs of the world
The last claim is mind-boggling for its pretentiousness. If seven Christians can be arraigned against one Hindu at The Hague to make sure that the Hindu does not so much as add a full-stop or delete a comma to the prepared text, does the Acharya Sabha really think the powerful and well-organized Abrahamic religions and their state power will allow Hindus to create an international body which would diminish their power and influence over world affairs?
Let us remember that Malaysia’s pioneering efforts to create an Asian Monetary Fund in the lines of the International Monetary Fund for Asia which bore the brunt of the IMF’s role as lender of last resort in the wake of the South and South-East Asian countries, is yet to gather momentum.
The resolutions leave us numb with disappointment and despair. Bringing over 150 Acharyas, Mathathipathis, Mahamandaleswars, Akharas and Adeenams under one roof once every two years is a momentous event calling for stupendous effort. The HDAS has convened four times since its creation but what does it have to show for itself?
This reminds us of the mammoth prayer meetings that Gandhi convened every day unfailingly for several years, across the country; in villages, towns and cities. Tens and thousands of people, sometimes hundreds of thousands of people gathered everyday to see him, to feel his presence, to hear him talk. They all assembled to see and listen to Gandhi because they thought he was leading the nation to freedom.
In the end Gandhi led the nation only to vivisection because he did not put these mammoth gatherings to any purposeful use. He did not use the prayer meetings to mobilize Hindu society to deal with an ascendant Muslim League; he did not involve the people directly in the freedom movement; he did not give the people a sense of Hinduness; he did not show them the true face of their enemies. He told them to spin the charkha while he did the politics; he led them in inter-faith prayer songs; they all sang "Ishwar Allah tero naam" and went back home satisfied that they had seen the man who would lead them to freedom.
As Aurobindo remarked, "Our beginnings are mighty" and there it stops. There is no purposeful movement thereafter towards a defined goal. The HDAS is in very real danger of becoming yet another mighty beginning losing steam and becoming a shell of its original self
- a talking shop with no intention of dealing effectively with the two most menacing threats to Hindus
- religious conversion and foreign funds.
To think our revered acharyas are brought together to pass resolutions on international conferences, to eulogise Dr. Subramaniam Swamy and to talk of shoes and ships and sealing wax and of cabbages and kings. There is also the real possibility of a new clique forming around a new cult figure. The HDAS and the Hindu Service and Spiritual Fair are great and timely moves to organize Hindu society. If this great coming together must be put to effective use, the first thing to be done is to jettison individuals and groups seeking to derail the HDAS and attempting to link the HDAS with the GFCH.
Hindu society is faced by a real threat to its survival. For every Hindu, the time for sweet talk is over. Kurukshetra is here and now. The Asuras must be destroyed or subdued. The HDAS cannot be allowed to go the way of the Indian National Congress. It has to measure up to the threat or find itself becoming irrelevant. Pujya Kanchi Acharya who as late as the evening of 8th January was discussing the issues that he intended to raise at the HDAS, for some reason best known to himself decided against going to the Sabha on the 9th. The Convener HDAS would do well to sense the warning signals. (Concluded)

Siddhis like milestones must fall by the wayside After his trouncing defeat on the battle-field by Sage Vasistha in a war in which Viswamitra lost his 100 sons, a vastly chastened Viswamitra was forced to acknowledge that his kshatriyatej was no match for Vasistha’s brahmatej. Overawed by the powers unleashed upon him by Sage Vasistha’s brahmadand and no longer content with being a rishi or even a rajarishi, Viswamitra with the fire of anger and vengeance burning in his heart and mind, resolved to become a brahmarishi like Vasistha so that he too could possess the matchless brahmadand. Viswamitra, it was clear, had a long, long way to go before he could get his hands on brahmadand. Rajiv Malhotra should read the Srimadvalmikiya Ramayan to know that brahmadand, the physical siddhi could be wielded only by a brahmarishi, a person with brahmatej. The status of brahmarishi was not about siddhis or mind over body but dharma over mind and body, gyan and vigyan. So much for moral-neutral science or siddhi! Every Hindu thoughtlessly propagating Rajiv Malhotra’s defence of Nityananda must read Sarga 22, 27 and 55-65 from the Balakandam of Srimadvalmikiya Ramayan (Gita press, Gorakhpur edition) to understand why Malhotra’s treatise on how the world should view Nityanada’s sex videos, is both immoral and subversive. Sarga 22 describes how brahmarishi Viswamitra initiated Srirama and Lakshmana into the bala and atibala mantras; Sarga 27 describes brahmarishi Viswamitra transferring all weapons of war under his control and in a dormant state within his mind from then on to reside in Srirama’s mind under his control. While Sarga22 says Lakshmana too was initiated into the bala-atibala mantras, Sarga 27 makes no mention of Lakshmana in the ritual where Viswamitra transfers all weapons to Srirama. The omission is significant and more on this in just a while. Rajiv Malhotra’s amazing defence of Nityananda’s conduct would merit no attention from this writer except for the fact that Malhotra makes reference to HDAS in this defence document with a casualness which deserves scrutiny. As pointed out in the earlier column on the same issue, the writer had observed that Nityananda’s peccadilloes are of little interest to the writer and merited attention only because of his relationship to GFCH and because of GFCH’s undesirable link to HDAS via Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati who is a part of both. At the heart of the matter is the undeniable truth that Nityananda had sex with a lady who he himself accepted, was living in the ashram to ‘serve’ him. Gandhi too referred to the women in his ashram with whom he conducted the completely un-Hindu experiments in brahmacharya as women who ‘served’ him. Important men and women in the INC and Gandhi’s close associates and colleagues outside the INC knew of his terrible experiments using women in his ashram and yet chose not to dislodge him as the unchallenged and unquestioned leader of the INC for fear of weakening the INC vis a vis the ascendant Jinnah and Muslim League. The Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha has the dharmic responsibility to Hindu bhaktas across sampradayas to make Nityananda accountable for his actions without fear of destabilizing or weakening Hindu society in these extremely trying times. The vulnerability of exposure is minimal compared to the destruction which will be caused by complicit or craven silence. Rajiv Malhotra has tried to build an edifice of bogus scholarship in Nityananda’s defence which, given Malhotra’s mutually profitable association of long years with the man, seems more like an effort to minimise Nityananda’s guilt for fear of having the scandal affect his growing influence in certain circles inside India besides affecting his pretensions to be an ‘independent researcher’ with the self-arrogated authority to comment on and influence Hindu issues on Hindu bhumi. Despite Viswamitra’s grueling and extraordinary tapasya through intense yoga and dhyana for a thousand years after his defeat at the hands of Sage Vasistha, Bhagawan Brahma refused to accept that Viswamitra was a brahmarishi and told Viswamitra that while he was a great rajarishi, he was still not worthy enough to be bestowed with the mahaprasada of being acknowledged as brahmarishi. For good effect, and as a demonstration of the exemplary laws of karma, Bhagawan Brahma told Viswamitra that only Sage Vasistha, the object of Viswamitra’s uncontrolled greed, anger, vengeance and ambition, could bestow this grace upon him. Rajiv Malhotra’s exercise to mitigate the effects of Nityananda’s sex scandal goes far beyond the crux of the matter and audaciously metamorphoses into a commentary on Hindu traditions. The writer is not a scholar in any sense of the term in any discipline but has enough sense to know that Malhotra’s arguments are wholly flawed and are also immoral because of the deliberate intent to dismiss the general understanding of dharma, particularly sanyasa dharma, held by ordinary Hindus of this bhumi. Malhotra makes the following audacious arguments with supreme sangfroid which presumes these arguments and the chosen idiom cannot be challenged or faulted. I am reading this with the fact that Shri Ishwar Sharan has charged you with writing to several poice officers in TN with the allegation that he continues to stay in India without valid papers.
My differences with Pujya Swamiji's inter-faith dialogues are too serious to be diminished by you to accuse me of being a russian spy and sleeping with Maran my ugliness and all.
Request you to please stop this. In part 2 of this series you will see why I am critical of inter-faith dialogues. The fact that you addressed one such scurrilous mail to Shri Sundaramji was also a dead give-away.

I have a lot of respect for you so I am writing to you frankly. I am aware I have no locus standi so that need not be pointed out again with threats of deportation by wooden-headed sadhus in Mangalore, But locus standi or not, I am a Vedic Dasanami sannyasi and I have an opinion too about how sadhus should conduct themselves in public and in private with their devotees.
I am aghast at your personal attacks on RR and SJ, sniping at them as "media cats" because you don't agree with their point of view. Sure they pontificate on Hindu Dharma; so do I and so do you. It is part of our Hindu culture: we are all experts on Dharma as far we understand it. But this is not the real issue; it is only an excuse to attack them. The real issue behind all of this is that our Dharma authorities have not been transparent in their dealings with the Vatican and have sponsored a "yogi" who has turned out to be an embarrassment to all of us.
Nithy has admitted his misconduct in so many (contradictory) words and having done so, how do you logically defend him? By his own admissions he makes a fool of you his defender!
No, Nithy didn't get a fair press; we see that now that the Vatican's monstrous crimes have been exposed and our media is going soft on them. But Nithy still has no defense because he was in the wrong. If the sex video is morphed as you maintain, why haven't you made a court case against Sun TV and Dinakaran? You can do it yourself. Until a court case is slapped on Sun TV, the argument that the video is morphed has no value.
Lenin may be a good character or a bad character
- certainly anybody called Lenin cannot be a good character
- he may even be a Christian agent, but that does not invalidate the contents of the video. Surely a man of your intelligence and experience must understand this?
Ranjitha says she had sex with Nithy. Is she lying? Why would she lie: is she a Christian agent too? And if the Christians paid her to entrap Nithy (which they could very well have done), does that mean Nithy didn't have sex with her? Again, you logic is impossible to accept. Even if the Christians entrapped Nithy, he is still at fault for not being on guard and not maintaining the usual sadhu discipline so that he would not be entrapped.
You maintain the Christians planned an attack on Hindu gurus some years back and that many Hindus had knowledge of it (though I have never heard such a story until now). If this is true, all the more reason that Nithy should have behaved himself and not left himself open to attack.
Christians have been attacking Hindus from the 7-8th century when the Nestorian Syrians arrived as refugees. These attracts reached an apex after Independence when the missionaries got a free run of the country and the covert support of both the media and the politicians. So the attacks of Christians are not new, but Hindus in general and Hindu leaders have ignored the Christian threat until quite recently. Why is that? Everybody was asleep when in 1989 SRG was shouting his head off warning about the Christians, as was RS. I came into contact with these two extraordinary men because they were the only Hindu intellectuals at that time warning us about the Christians. I was shouting too. but nobody would listen to me. I was told to shut up until SRG gave me a publishing outlet.
In 1989 even AS was not fully persuaded about the Christian threat. He got badly burned after attending a Jesuit conference and came to understand that the Christian threat is far more serious than the Muslim threat.
Today we know about the Christian threat in general but not in detail. Why? Why have we still not got a national Hindu newspaper of record? Why have we not got proper legal organisations to deal with the Christians and the newspapers in the courts? Why do Hindu Dharmacharyas still think their silly neo-vedanta will overcome the Christian threat with love. Are our Hindu leaders really so besotted with their own ananda that they cannot see the real enemy?
I have lived in ashrams and among Brahmins and sadhus most of my 64 years. I can say that the Brahmin way of life is the only rational way to live sensibly in this sad world
- except on one point. The Brahmins (by which I mean the whole of Hindu civilizational leadership, not the caste as such) do not understand the enemy because they refuse to study the documents and history of the enemy. They either separate themselves from the enemy and try to save themselves, or they do politics with the enemy not realizing the enemy is better at politics, or they try to soft soap the enemy by conceding points in the hope that the enemy doesn't demand more gifts of souls. None of this works. Hindu leaders today are good and saintly men who are completely self-deceived about the Christian enemy.
But the ladies are not fooled. Both have done their homework, as, indeed, you have to some extent. My contact with RR and SJ is because I feel they do understand the Christian enemy better than most Hindu intellectuals, and they have gone into the details of the enemy which most Hindus, and especially our gurus, have not done. And they are not afraid to speak out even at cost to themselves. They do us a great service by pontificating on Dharma as, indeed, do you. So don't accuse them because of their hard work and expertise and defense of Hindu Dharma. This is a completely irrational attack on them.
To get back to Nithy, he owes us all a humble apology for the shame he has brought on sadhus and Hindu Dharma. He has no defense any longer even if he had one earlier. Big names like yours won't help him now and your defence, with its element of spite against the ladies, only brings you down in our esteem.
And Nithy is not the end of the sadhu sex scandals. There are allegations being made against Sri Sri which, when they get into the hands of our enemies, are going to be a bigger blow to us than Nithy was. And the allegations against Sai Baba have been there for years. I, like you with Nithy, believed it was all a Christian conspiracy against Sai Baba, But in the last 10 years I have listened to a number of absolutely candid personal accounts from Baba devotees of their sex encounters with Sai Baba, so I cannot brush it off as vicious gossip any longer. Baba Ramdev has an unsavory past that is known to all sadhus in Haridwar-Rishikesh, that includes land-grabbing, car theft and murder. But they are old allegations and may not be relevant any longer.
What I am saying is that our sadhus and leaders have to clean up their act. We cannot lay blame on the other side when they expose us because of the bad conduct of our gurus who themselves do not follow the Dharma they represent.
How can we critique the Christians when our leaders do the same things their leaders do? And we are covering up for our leaders just the way they are covering up for theirs! So the agnostic secularist stands vindicated that all religion is rotten even as they have always claimed. It is a no win situation for us all the way round.
With regards and best wishes. I, too, pray to Sri Krishna that we stop biting each others necks and join together against our common Christian enemy who will pull us down by any means possible
- including by the balls of our own randy sadhus.

G.P. Srinivasan knows my residential status in India. He also knows that I am under threat from the Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore for exposing their St. Thomas fraud. The Archbishop can have me expelled in day if he chose to make a complaint to MK. G.P. Srinivasan is maliciously misleading you when he says I am overstayed in India. Overstaying is a serious charge that can attract police attention. In fact I hold a long-term visa that is extended when necessary. I am designated on government documents as a permanent resident. I am registered with the Foreigners Registration Office in Tiruvannamalai and have a valid residential permit. I have even cleared a security check Q Branch made some years ago, and was given an official letter to this effect.
Further to this, I am a Smarta Dasanami sannyasin who got his diksha from the mahamandaleshwar of a prestigious Dasanami math in Panchavati, Nasik, at the Maha Kumbha Mela at Prayag in 1977.
Now that I have shown my certificates, Swamijyoti, kindly show me yours. Who are you? Where did you get your diksha? What math are you attached to? What sampradaya do you belong to? What Vedic parampara do you represent? On what authority do you wear the kavi cloth? Why do you mislead people by giving out a Chennai street address when in fact you live at an unknown location in Mangalore?
I am a bhikhari, Swamijyoti, who lives at a subsistence level by the grace of Sri Arunachaleshwar and the generosity of a few very kind and patient friends. I have serious health problems and am losing my eyesight. I will be off the key board soon enough, to the great relief of you and Malhotra and the Archbishop of Madras.

Nithyananda is not a Hindu religious leader: he represents no Vedic parampara or rishi-acharya tradition that I know of. This is the treatment I get today because of the misdeeds of Nithyananda and others like him. It is no use blaming the hostile media for this bad reputation when the godmen themselves don't behave themselves.
How is it possible for me to support Nithyananda? I have dealt with him as fairly as I know how. I will not be manipulated by the likes of Malhotra or Srinivasan or you just because Nithyananda is a Hindu and not a Muslim or Christian.

I have been having some discussions with Sandhya Jain and her fans in the Vijayvaani.com website. However, I notice that she does not reply my questions and also, whatever I post, it is deleted [ I say deleted because, i see the post on the site for some time and later it disappear from the site. I asked her if I am banned, but no reply so far.
Vijayvanni seems to be her web paper [ she is the editor] Is there any way I can raise this attitude since I find that when she accuses at large and then when questions asked, she either ignores or may be bans or delets? I never use bad language, nor I make personal attacks.
Is the web paper or discussion column vijayvaani come under the press information beurau?
